  1. my opinion along with most experts... and they are fine without ba... second half of last season ba didnt score, newcastle was able to finish 5th... they have one of the best center mids in the game in yohan cabaye, danny simpson was statistically the best right back in terms of challenges won and all those fancy stats, and ben arfa can kill you in an instant... love the newcastle hate, keep it coming, while you watch cisses 2 beauties against chelsea, note the "awful" first touch on the first goal, and goal of the season to top it off

when I said they needed Ba, I meant they needed him in the line up to make up for Cisse's build up deficiencies. Cisse does nothing for their build up.

Nothing in my post was hating on Newcastle, in fact I complimented Ba and talked about how great a player he is and how important he is. You need to calm down, friend.

  2. Arsenal almost screwed up Champions League for themselves. Thankfully Montpellier scored. Its all going to come down to the match at Olympiakos. Arsenal are really a poor side this season.

Dortmund are looking forreal, forreal. Strong performance at Bernbeau today. City are finished. They are out with a draw after the result today.

And Malaga look proper too. Dont think they are a genuine contender, but qualifying for the next round is good.

he was top 3 player in the premier league the second half of last season, class goal after class goal... problem is him and ba dont play well together... hes a very smart player and very good finisher...

    in your opinion.

If Ba isnt playing for Newcastle, that team looks so weak. Cisse cant pass, cant hold the ball up, has a terrible first touch but he does know how to find goal scoring areas and can finish. There just isnt much else to his game except that. He is like a poor man's version of Michael Owen or van Nistelrooy (altho Ruud showed more to his game at Madrid) or Inzaghi.

I like my forwards to do more.

  3. how many players can turn and hit a volley with that much power from that angle consistently? ba did almost the same thing against manu last year... suarez was a great touch and finish tho.... and yes newcastle is always scoring absurd goals...pappis cisse had one deflect off his back and in earlier this year, thats the only non highlight reel goal i can think of haha

I really dont rate this guy

  4. suarez was a close second to this beauty from demba ba :D

yeah, this is my goal of the season.

Suarez's goal reminded me of Kanu's goal against Deportivo. I prefer Kanu's goal because he didnt touch the ball.

this lazy prick should have been the best striker in the world. Him and Kluivert.

also on Suarez's goal. Hoofed forward. Reminded me of the team that plays at the Britannia0AU06.png

  5. So... quick question: Which FO move will prove to be the worst one for the franchise in the past 15 years?

    A: Jordan picks Kwame Brown

B: Washington trades 5th overall pick for Randy Foye and Mike Miller

C: Washington trades Rashard Lewis for Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor

D: Washington trades Caron Butler' date=' Desean Stevenson, and Brendan Haywood for Josh Howard, James Singleton, Quinton Ross, and Drew Gooden

E: Washington trades Antawn Jamison and Drew Gooden for Ilgalksus ( who is released within a week and rejoins Cleveland) and Al Thornton

[b']F: Arenas is misdiagnosed, is greenlit to play after major knee surgery... resulting in 2 more knee surgeries and the end of his career ( basically)[/b]

    G: Andre Blatche is resigned

I am not quite sure which way i fall, as i hated every single move... but im voting D. We still have no shooting guard while Caron( albeit injury prone) continues to light it up at times, Stevenson had some great defense for a good 2-3 more years and is still starting in this league for ATL, and Haywood who is also still starting and has always provided decent defense. All three of which went on to win a title with dallas. Meanwhile, Howard barely even played for washington (even though everyone in the league knew he was already damaged goods due to his knees; I dont even remember Quinton Ross playing for Washington; Drew Gooden never played for Washington and is traded essentially for Al Thornton, and James Singleton is still playing in China. Just awful

    A, B, and F.

A because we missed terribly on Kwame. We had no idea how to develop him or how good he could be. That draft did not produce a franchise player (closest being Gil and Parker imo), so I get with going with potential but we had the #1 pick who was effectively a major bust.

B, altho we did get John Wall in the next draft this, trading for these players was nothing but desperation. Clinging on to playoff hopes was ridiculous. We could have taken Rubio, or even traded down. Taking Minnesota's trash was ridiculous.

F, Gilbert's misdiagnosis lead to the mess that this organization has been in since 2007. Gilbert was the hottest player int he NBA before that injury and was on the verge of superstardom. I have my reservations about him being a franchise player but the guy was an elite NBA scorer who made clutch shots. He was HUGE for this area. Was the biggest star and those teams played exciting basketball as well a playoff team. If we traded one of Jamison or Butler for an inside scorer I think this team could have been something special. Alas, it was not meant to be. The organization's medical team failed Gilbert by indulging him and it resulted in the demise of a potentially great NBA career, a great relationship with this city, and the only bright spot in this franchise since the 70s.

I think F is the worst move.

Ted not firing Ernie the minute he acquired the team might trump them all though

yea, I think this is the right answer.

And its been 3 seasons too.

  6. I will lay all the money and possesion's I own against the Juventus idea. There's no way on Gods green earth are Juventus in any serious running for Walcott.

I very much doubt United are interested, so off that list that only leaves City's money to be remotely concerned about.

But it's a moot debate on something that may or may not happen. We'll see what transpires going forward. But forget Juve.

    Hail.

you never know. These Italian sides want speed, and Juve are a really really good side. They could get him for really cheap and will pay him a lot of money.

All I know is that he wont be back at Arsenal next season and potentially not in February.

Sagna will be leaving too. Gibbs is also potentially out. I could see him signing for a Liverpool if you guys offer enough salary.

  7. so this is how the Arsene Wenger ends. Damn shame.

What a pathetic and listless performance. Making that clown Vermaelen captain has proven to be such a disastrous move.

Arsene Wenger has an Arsenal side that cant create chances. Incredible.

so let me get this straight, the giants can play at the meadlowlands tomorrow but the red bulls can't host a game tonight. that makes 0 sense.

in fairness, Newark and East Rutherford are nowhere near each other.

I think Newark got it worse too. I think the PATH station over there got crushed, but not sure.

But I agree with you, its still a bad decision by MLS.

    ---------- Post added November-3rd-2012 at 01:10 PM ----------

On the plus side, Walcott was left out again and moved a step nearer joining his boyhood club and becoming Brendan's first big coup. So today wasn't a total loss.

    Hail.

    Theo has ambition, imo.

I think he will goto Chelsea, City, United, or even Juve.

  8. For anyone trying to go to the DCU playoff game, the home game has been moved to this Saturday, Nov 3 at 8pm, and the away game will be on Nov 7. The change is bc Red Bull Arena and surrounding area are without power.

Bye-bye home field advantage. Hope this at least means more people can make it out to the home game tho.

an embarrassing decision. MLS' front office is a joke.

  9. What the hell are you talking about? Go back and read my first response. I don't agree with Gerrard, but the stats quoted in the article are simplistic and don't actually support the argument.

So then what are we doing here? What should we look at to show that Everton arent Stoke if we cant look at the possession stats?
