  1. How about the ****ing late hit?

Isaiah Wright is for real. Another example of Rivera playing the right guys when they’ve earned it through competition in practice.

Where the hell has this play calling been? Getting Mclaurin involved early. I know we all know it but good lord he is SPECIAL. He has everything. For a smaller guy he is strong as hell and in addition to everything else he’s special after the catch too.

At 3-3 we would be, at worst, 2 games out of first place in the division. So yeah, I go for it as he would instantly transform our passing game and free Terry from being constantly double teamed.

I'd offer a third and if necessary consider a second round pick straight up.

You are high as a kite if you'd would ever considering giving Allen Robinson that kind of money. On top of trading that away to get him. That's what we're going to be paying McLaurin in a couple years and you want to have two ~$20M receivers? Nope, grow from within and there will be FA's next year and we'll pay Terry when it's time.

  3. It blows my mind so many of you want to trade draft capital for a veteran receiver. Because why? We won one game? It was impressive and fun to watch, sure. But now you want to use as high as a 2nd or 3rd round pick to bring someone in to steal time from our young offense because all of a sudden you think we can compete this year? Again, for what? A playoff birth and then get booted in one game?

We aren’t going to compete in the playoffs this year. Robinson or OBJ wouldn’t change that. Next year the cap is going to go down and you want to get rid of draft capital that brings in more young chosen by Rivera to add to his culture that will play on rookie deals for one of these guys? Rivera himself has said he wants to go with what we have to get them experience and give them opportunities to prove themselves. You’re argument is probably that we could just release Inman or something so it wouldn’t take away their playing time. But see the rest above. And Rivera is serious about trusting them and letting them prove they can do it. It kinda spoils that message if you say hey you’re not good enough we gotta go get a guy that didn’t go through camp with us.

Trust the process, let these guys grow another year, keep our draft picks to get younger and add more talent that’s raised in this culture. Don’t buy into the idea of mortgaging the future for another high priced veteran today so we can be marginally better as a team. And possibly get worse because we blow up some of the trust Rivera has built with these guys by proving that he trusts and believes in them. Let them go out and work their asses off to convince themselves they can do it. We will be just fine.

BTW McLaurin is going to eat. Dude had Slay blanketing him all day and no time for Haskins to throw and STILL had 5/61. Should have easily been 6/80 but Haskins missed him. Those 61 yards put him on pace for just below 1000. And you KNOW that stat line is going to be the low watermark for him every game. Additionally, Sims had 50 yards, on pace for 800. This is on par for what everyone wanted before the season from them. Hell, Logan Thomas essentially had one of his best career games and got the TD that was in line with what we all wanted when we heard he was racking up TD’s in camp. He’s on pace and looking like a 4-500 yard guy with at least a handful of TD’s. So why the panic or thought that we need to go get someone? Let them grow and build that chemistry and as Gibson gets more comfortable and Love gets healthy we’ll see a decent offense by the end of the year.

Everyone just take a breath and enjoy what we have and watching them grow.

    Terry Allen honorable mention.

It's blatantly obvious those that don't like scary terry have never seen or don't like the show rick and morty. Pretty sure anyone who has seen the show gets and loves the nickname. Those that haven't don't understand the reference and therefore hate it...

They drafted two guys. They brought in two vets in the form of Inman and Lattimer. They tried to get Cooper.

This team has worked at upgrading the WR corps, but the best ability is availability. Lattimer can’t contribute right now. Cooper is not on the team. Harmon is hurt. AG is going to split time elsewhere and AGG is likely an outside threat only at this point. Quinn is quietly sitting there, able and ready to go.

If the argument is to bring in other guys, sure. (Josh Gordon is available, but he is dealing with his own things) I’m just focused on what we currently have on the roster. When I look at the scraps at the end of our depth chart, I don’t see anyone capable of knocking Quinn off of this team. At this point he is a brain... er... bird in the hand.

I may have lost an eyeball last week but I still have 20/ vision in my remaining one. Until we bolster our corps with new talent, I don’t SEE Quinn going anywhere. (Zombie Pun)

I agree and it’s unfortunate because Quinn sucks. He’s not above average in anything. Quickness, top speed, etc. His catch radius on a scale of 1 to 10 is T-Rex. He almost can’t run an out route because he doesn’t create separation and if you put the ball out in front he can’t reach out to get it. He’s available for now but the dude has missed 17/32 possible games and hasn’t shown much when available so his durability is a question too. He’s a garbage punt returner that is only capable of catching the ball and not actually gaining any field position.

This was a guy I was somewhat excited about a year ago but now I know what he is. You’re right that based on the current situation he will make the team but I hope we don’t have to rely on him seeing the field much if at all this year.

  6. This is a huge blow. We have very little depth at WR and the cupboard is bare at TE. Harmon was most likely our starting WR opposite McLaurin and clearly had great chemistry with the other 2nd year wideouts. Haskins actually said he had the best chemistry with Harmon out of all of them going back to knowing each other from high school. He’s no stud but I think can be a solid possession guy and great blocker, was our starter and now done.

We’ve seen enough to know trey Quinn doesn’t belong so that leaves McLaurin and Sims with a bunch of backup scrubs and all of us praying AGG can translate well...and quickly, with a jacked up offseason 😕

I believe that clip shows that who ever mentioned something about the receivers belling out haskins has a point.

There is no question that Harmon and McLaurin did that for Haskins on occasion last year. But I disagree regarding that packers game TD. If Haskins puts that ball right on Terry’s numbers it’s an easy for the safety coming across the middle. The ball was put in the only place a defender couldn’t make a play on it. Terry had to make a catch of the year type play but it was a perfect throw. Or Haskins just got lucky and made an inaccurate throw that fortunately ended up in the perfect spot.

The overall point remains though that they bailed him out on occasion but that’s what good receivers should do. Scary Terry is our best offensive player and he and Dwayne will only get better, individually and together. If Sims progresses it’s really going to open things up for a playmaker we can get the ball in space like Gibson or Sims as well. If AGG can just be decent he’s going to see a lot of one on ones against the defense’s second corner and hopefully weapons like Gibson, Sims, McKissic and a healthy Guice can feast on a spread out defense underneath allowing them to get a head full of steam and rip off chunk plays.

I know we can't fill 5 positions with one pick. We could get by with the RBs we already had and at least take a shot at finding a starter. Even just a couple of picks later: Ashtyn Davis (FS) and Damien Lewis (G). You don't think either of those guys would have a chance to start over Troy Apke or Wes Martin?

Wait, Apke is our starting FS? 😂

I've wondered what the plan is with Ryan kerrigan now that chase young is here. You don't sit the number 2 pick in the draft and we just drafted sweat pretty high.

I do think Ryan could play inside at times. Will be interesting to see how del Rio uses the bunch and if we will see schemes with kerrigan sweat and young on the field at the same time.

I could see Kerrigan starting the year for either Sweat or Young, but it won't last. Eventually, Kerrigan becomes a sub or a 3rd down only package guy. I was at Sean Taylor's first game and he didn't start nor did he play a lot. It takes some time for rookies to get adjusted, and you can see Sweat last year. You have to play who is better for the team at that moment. It could end up being Young and Sweat. But part of me thinks that early on, it could be Kerrigan before the younger guys just start playing better.

I don’t have the link because I can’t remember what thread. But valuable insight on how little it matters who starts. Ioannidis played more snaps then Allen or Payne last year. Bottom line is we have 6 studs up front who can rotate, play multiple positions and terrorize the QB and play the run. Starts don’t matter. Overall defense does and we have a chance to be a top defense this year if RR and JDR can maximize their talents. These coaches have already said its all about developing a scheme around the players you have. All of them will get a lot of snaps and should be incredibly rested and efficient for those snaps and that’s what matters.

So, the two of the three teams we're competing with in the NFC lost. Hope we win tonight.

Who are you referring to? Upset some of the NFC teams pulled it out against AFC opponents, i.e. Seattle (hate them, only player I liked was Lynch and now he's gone) and Minnesota.

I didn't really expect the Browns to beat Philly but I thought it was close enough to even and Wentz' first start so I was hoping the Brownies could pull it off. Alas they looked like poo.

To me the two things that seem potentially worrisome about the Giants is their D line seems stout against the run -- 1.  Hankins and Snacks up the middle are a tough tandem to run on.  If Elliot is as good as he's hyped to be then the Giants run stuffing ability is worrisome because they shut him down.   2.  Shepard, Cruz and Beckham seem to be a nice trio of weapons.

    Agreed.

NY Observations: Defense is stout. They held Dez to 1 catch on 5 or 6 targets for 8 yards. They held Elliott to about 2.5 ypc and this wasn't some aberration - he literally only got about 2 yards or less on almost every single carry. As mentioned above, the receiving trio looks pretty solid and perhaps even more worrisome so did their run game with Jennings and Vereen. Perhaps this was just because Dallas sucks on defense, perhaps not.

Dallas Observations: Nothing too impressive on defense. They should be awful as soon as Lee gets his annual season ending injury. May sound dark and it's nothing against the guy, but seriously, his body just does not hold up. The biggest thing here is that Dak looks damn good. He's no game breaker (yet) but he already looks at least as hard to bring down as Big Ben. There was a play where JPP got a full swat right on his wrist/the ball and Dak didn't even bobble the ball, instead just slid out and threw the ball. This is a guy where seemingly every time Dallas had him for a sack or pressured he'd just shrug off a hit and throw it away. This can't be understated because he takes away huge plays (sacks) from defenses and at worst turns them into incompletions. He completed an extremely high percent of his throws as well. He looks calm and poised. I don't say all this to say I think he's taking Dallas anywhere this year, moreso just that I think they seemed to luck into their next franchise QB. This kid is going to be very good, but I don't think Dallas is a division winner or wild card team this year.

Watching Keenan Robinson on the Giants lay a lick on Alfred Morris on the Cowboys just made me derp

Meh, except Morris hopped right back up they patted each other on the back, hugged and kept on playing. By the way, Morris in his few carries looked like the sharper back today mwhahaha.

So, how do we feel about the New York/Dallas game people? Glad New York won? Glad Dallas lost? Sad because New York could be the bigger threat this year? I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel although I hate Dallas so I supposed I'd prefer a NY win. One thing's for sure. Frickin RGIII continues to screw us.

  13. Yea they combined the ESPN app with the Watch ESPN app. Not sure about the provider. Cant remember.

Worth a shot tho to check and see.

I have the Watch ESPN app on my roku and just downloaded the ESPN app on my iPad - the first requires your cable provider (I don't do cable) and the second doesn't have/show any streams available or even allow me to watch replays of past games. It was worth a try though.

  14. I agree 100%. We should make that jersey permanent and adjust our current helmet to match. That would look beast.

Glad somebody agreed. The gold pants were much better than the yellow ones we typically wear. I thought the color scheme looked great. I heard a lot of people weren't big fans of the helmets but honestly I liked those a lot too. But we could definitely come up with a new color scheme for our current helmet. But I know this is just a pipedream, it's obviously not going to happen.

  15. Aside from just the uniform, Orakpo seems to have hit the gym pretty hard this offseason. Hopefully it translates to some improved functional strength on the field. I think this is going to be a big year for Orakpo (nothing to do with him looking bigger, he just really seemed to come on at the end of the year).
