  1. We also saw in Dallas last season how hard guys like Payne and Allen made their teammates fight...so I guess they're both wrong.
  2. Eh, so was the Monday Night Miracle game against the Cowboys lol...and I think in that game we had not scored a single TD yet that season until Moss' TD with 4 minutes to go. We beat the Bears the previous week by a score of 9-7 off three field goals if my memory is correct.
  3. LOL 😂...nobody does. It just happens lol... Heinicke's not good enough to be consistent, and that goes beyond arm strength. But he...I dunno...sprinkles magic fairy dust in the huddle or something lol, and all of a sudden everyone's making plays at the end of the game. Others point out that he's 7-3 over his last 10 starts. That's unheard of around here, especially when we're starting Taylor "Hey, bro, wake up...the NFL wants you to start a playoff game" Heinicke. EDIT: I had to go check and see when we last started a season 7-3...it was 1996 and the QB was Gus Frerotte lol. I know Heinicke's 10 starts are spread over 2 seasons, but that was the quickest and easiest way to compare (if not the most accurate). I honestly don't know how the **** he does it, like you said...then again, if we knew how he did it there wouldn't be any "legend of Taylor Heinicke" to one day tell our grandchildren about.
  4. Oh, it's absolutely to a fault lol...(that was one of the ways I described his play last year) As for what coaches would have preferred in that situation, agree to disagree I suppose, since it's not really easy to prove either way. I just think the attitude of "If the shot's there, take it" tends to be what most coaches want.
  5. To me, this is pretty much the exact same throw...maybe Heinicke's limit is 46 yards? lol (gotta watch it on youtube)
  6. Is your argument "Heinicke should have known not to trust his arm even if the absolute best WR on the team is wide open for a TD and even if he's made that same throw multiple times for TDs"--and that every coach in the NFL would say the same?
  7. That's not a "hail mary"... Heinicke made a throw to McLaurin last week almost the exact same distance--while Terry had insanely tight coverage--and placed it on a dime. How hard is it really to imagine that he felt he could do it again when the nearest defender to McLaurin is 4 yards away? And doubt Rivera or any coach would be screaming "NO! YOUR ARM IS TOO WEAK!" lol...and that's pretty much what it was: the right read, the right throw, and the right decision...but his arm is too week to consistently make that "dime" throw from one game to the next. Then again, with the distance between TM and the defender maybe Heinicke felt he had some leeway...I mean, c'mon, it's Terry he's throwing to. By the way, he also made a similar throw at a similar distance to McKissick against the Panthers in 2020 for a TD (except McKissick had tighter coverage when he threw it as well).
  8. When the WR is wide open and it's a sure TD, it's no longer a hail mary duck... You never, EVER, leave sure-fire points off the scoreboard in order to play it safe. Especially when you need a TD to win and not just a field goal. That was as close to sure-fire points as it gets without it actually becoming points.
  9. That's just it...it didn't have a very good chance of being intercepted when he threw the ball...if Heinicke checked down and threw an incompletion and they lost the game, everyone and their dead grandmothers would have faulted him for not seeing McLaurin wide open and would be saying he lost them the game.
  10. Terry was wide open with nothing between him and the end zone when he threw it, with under a minute left in the game. I can't imagine a coach NOT wanting their QB to make that throw.
  11. In terms of Heinicke targeting McLaurin more than Wentz... Targets from CW Game 1: 4 Game 2: 8 Game 3: 9 Game 4: 6 Game 5: 6 Game 6: 4 Targets from TH Game 7: 8 Game 8: 8
