Everything ok Dave?
Oh yeah. Totally ok now. Was at one of our kids soccer games and thought I had to let out a little gas. It wasn't all gas.

Haha, don't be worried, totally fine. If it was something bad I'd definitely add more.

I'm just posting this to kind of elaborate on VoR's earlier post and to set out my own thoughts.
(6) Draft only 1st Round Pick/Heinicke Heinicke/1st Round Pick ? I would be down for Ridder as an option 6. I think he could take over mid season from Heinicke without much change in the offense system.

I agree with an upper level Qb we are 9 to 12 win team. If we had Stafford last year we probably would have won 9 to 12 games.
If Covid didn't hit the way it did we probably would have won 8 or 9 this year.
That 1st Philly game and then the Dallas game on 4 days rest were ridiculous. Pretty sure we get one of those two.
Then that whole period of practice, who could and who couldn't, trying to install things, coaches being out, etc. leading up to the second Philly game? sheesh!

How do we know the "non football people" isn't the marketing team.
Heck, with a new name coming, I am sure everyone in the building wants a new QB to tie it to.
Realistically they need the following this offseason:
QB
WR
RG
RB
MLB
CB
The other starting spots are basically filled. You could even argue that CB and RG are already on the roster and WR is a low priority (I disagree but whatever).
Trading a bunch of picks for a legit, top 10 QB, signing a MLB in FA, then drafting / filling out the rest of the roster with depth and you have a team that could win 9-12 games per year.

We aren’t gonna go after Watson but he’s also not pulling 3 1’s and a 2 with his issues.
Haskins isn’t on the roster lol but no you wouldn’t see a package like that for anyone in the league, that looks more like an NBA deal, it would mostly be draft picks whose value and usage are a lot more liquid.
I'm not saying use those players, I'm using those players to illustrate a point.
Offering 3 1s and a 2 sounds insane at first glance. Put in to terms of players we have drafted over the past 3 years (Haskins, Young, Davis, Cosmi) and all of a sudden it's not as bad.
I doubt he comes here also (and who knows what his value really is with everything hanging over his head), but I think you could sell him on DC. New name, new beginning, your chance to be the face of this team that is starting over (and basically you are doing the same).

I think the Raiders are going to keep Bisaccia and in turn they will keep Carr for another year.
I think our solution at QB is going to be the bridge vet and rookie. I think it's going to wind up being the only realistic solution.
So Mitch T, Teddy B, Marcus M?
Sign Jamies W?
Haskins, Young, Davis, Cosmi for Watson?
I'm not saying do those players, but thats 3 1's and a 2nd.

Any chance we get Carr and Pickett/Corral falls to us? What a dream. That’d almost make me wanna go get a massage with Robert Kraft and Deshaun Watson.
I think you'd have to give LV the pick (1st round pick) to get Carr.

TH doesn't have the arm strength to make NFL throws. He does fine on unscripted stuff and can make an incredible escape from time to time.
You can't build a NFL offense around unscripted plays. And you can't build a NFL offense around a guy that can't make NFL throws.
Vegas fired their GM. Go get Carr.

I would love to see us get Mariota on a 3-4 year deal with the bonus money largely in years 1-2/3 and year 3/4 having no cap hit if traded or released.
You can pretty much insert any of the 25-40 ranked qbs onto this team and be a couple plays away from 9 wins and a couple plays away from 5 wins. (Its like that for most teams in the league)
Get a 12-25 ranked qb and the spread moves to 7-11.
Get 5-12 and your 8-12.
Top 5? 10-14

I would do this in a heartbeat but they are going to fetch more than that for Carr. Very wishful thinking that we would get their 1st in exchange for ours, and 2 3rds.
Maybe our first and 2 thirds, with us only getting Carr in return, not their 1st.

Not sure where Carr would fit in on that list but us giving up the 9th (current spot) would be one of the highest gives to date.
Swap 1st, 2 3rds, Payne for Carr with the 3rd next year escalating all the way to a 1st if benchmarks are met could be possible?

50/50?
Based on what?
I asked earlier and I'll ask again, what evidence is there that the Raiders want to move on from Carr?
What impact will making the playoffs have on that? They are tied with chargers for last seed in AFC, they could make it.
He is in the last year of his deal with zero dead money if the trade him.
IF Mayock is gone as GM you have a entirely new front office / coaching staff that either has to decide in 2-3 months that they want Carr for 4-5 years or they can move on and set the table to draft someone next year.
That being said, if they beat the Chargers and get into the playoffs then Mayock probably stays, hires a coach that wants Carr and this is all pointless. lol

If they move him that's not bad, I think it 50/50 he moves. You think they take a first and payne or we have to give more.
I think it depends on Mayock. If he is gone you have a new gm, new coach, and a team that probably needs to rebuild. If your starting over there, extending Carr doesn't make a ton of sense.
Now what is his value? I guess it depends on who goes after him.
Vegas probably trades him to the NFC so philly, Giants, Carolina, New Orleans, ?Vikings maybe?
I want to see Seattle flip Wilson for picks then go get Watson. That would be such a baller move.
-
Trade our 1st and 3rd this year plus a 3rd next that can escalate to a 2nd to Vegas for Carr and their 1st (currently we would drop from 9 to 18) (maybe throw in Deron Payne and work the picks side a bit)
Extend Carr for 4 years
Trade up in year 3 of Carrs deal to draft a QB.
Become Kansas City East

If we lose out we will pick at 7. So we will have a shot at QB #2 after Houston takes a QB. Giants are not going to pick another QB and neither is Philly.
I'm not sure Houston takes a QB. They can roll with Mills next year and trade Watson for a haul of picks. If Mills is awful then they have a top pick in 2023 + whatever they get from Watson with the ability to draft a better QB then whoever they could get this year.

Watch Smallwood try and block the rusher on the punt that was blocked. That sums up the teams effort all night.

We all know what is going to happen.
Washington is going to win this game by the skin of their teeth, get some people back and beat Dallas next week.
Then they will have everyone back from the Covid list and lose to the Eagles at home by 24 and then lose to a Mike Glennon led Giants team on a last second FG to miss the playoffs.

They did test the entire team and staff.
They had 1 positive. Cedrick Wilson
They tested the vaccinated players Monday. Watch next Mondays test results to see if Dallas has issues.
To add to this....Washington is about to get royally screwed if the proposed changes happen between this weekend and next.

It's being reported that most of the players testing positive across the league don't have symptoms. Guessing it applies here too
I can speak to one player who had flu like symptoms, kept testing negative so they practiced/played and then later tested positive. Not a Washington player.

I wonder if the league won't force Dan to sell because of how litigious he is. I bet he would go scorched earth and burn it all down instead of taking his 4 billion and walking away.
That has to scare the crap out of the other owners.

A more accurate comparison is a player who skips out on conditioning for the entire offseason and then gets a knee injury in week 1 because he did nothing to help the durability of his body.
You forgot to add....then his knee injury spreads to teammates and they now have a knee injury.

Hey, at least with Covid we have had new stories to talk about the past two years. Otherwise its just rehashing the same scenario with different actors over the past 25 years.

I'm wagering that someone very prominent will be leaving the organization soon.

On a positive note, teams will want to run on us because our DL depth is gone OR they will want to pass on us because our DB depth is gone BUT they can't do both at the same time!!!
