If you google ‘awesome science projects” the results are bull****. I specifically used the term awesome, as in inspiring awe. I’m not looking for making a battery out of a potato or doing the avocado pit bull****. I’m talking about **** will get us cited by my HOA and hopefully the fire department. Something that will leave a permanent mark or possibly a crater in my yard.

You can do it!!  We just need to hear from your mouth “just a second, hold my whiskey!!”

I did not see Snoop.  I saw a poorly drawn picture of a penis and a butthole, but did not get that one.  The Makers is 100% for me.  Not sure if I am giving my buddy the Starlight or the Rat Pack.  I think I will casually ask him if he likes rye, and if so, then the Starlight.  The Starlight has two bottles, the only difference being the amount of char.  I think that will appeal to my buddy's analytic nature (he is a Navy JAG).

What is the deal with the labels?

It started because people were just putting like Barrel xxxx on a label.  That makes it a pain in the ass when you say hey anybody have any xxxx for sale.  You have to go look it up cause nobody ever remembers the number. Now you can say hey give me the Snoop bottle or how bout that Rat Pack bottle and if it’s good it gets well known.  Also turns out that great labels can inflate a bottles value for NO logical reason.  Prav did a Bob Marley glow in the dark label of a plain old Buffalo Trace pick. Thing goes for over 150 a bottle. It’s good Buffalo Trace but should in no way go for that price.

This 2 Face Rick Patino label goes for over 500 bucks. Whiskey is worth about 50.

I mean, pretty much whenever.  My posts so far have been about getting a present for a neighbor, but make no mistake, I am filling up my trunk for myself too. :ols:

Post some pictures of your shopping spree!!

Prav will be there at Noon.  Get one or two fo the store picks he will have there.  Nothing will approach those for that money.  I recommend his High West Snoop pick.  It's amazingly good although it is a rye not bourbon.  If you really want bourbon, he has a Makers pick that is awesome too. But he may be out of those.  If you want to spend a bit more He has a Bowman Censored pick that is one of the best I've had.  Also he usually has some opens you can give a try.

    Thanks!

Taking a step back, can you explain the concept of a "store pick"?

The way it works is he goes to the distillery and tastes individual barrels usually with a small group and pick out the best of the 6 to 12 you taste.  Then he has that barrel bottled for his store.  There can be huge variations in individual barrels and you can end up getting amazing whiskey for relatively cheap prices.  It's how I get most of my whiskey nowadays.

Neighbor/friend got a big promotion (to Navy Commander) so we (the other guy neighbors) are pitching in to get him a nice bottle of bourbon.  It just happens to coincide with my having to go into my DC office for the first time since February, so I am heading to the DuPont liquor palace that @HOF44 recommended a while back this afternoon.  If anyone has any suggestions for a "special occasion gift" bottle around $200, please let me know.

  6. So is this talk of using an impeachment to run out the clock on a justice nominee legit and possible or wishful thinking?  I’ve seen several articles refer to it but none lay out the specifics of how it would take precedence over the approval of the justice. Interesting idea though.

  7. My 13 year old boy is not doing well.  Very sick, has been at the vet for a week. He’s home tonight and we are just hoping for the best. He somehow ended up with pneumonia.  Just hope we can keep him drinking and eating.

  8. I used to shoot competition matches in my 20’s.  After I got married I stopped so I sold all my equipment. In 30 years I’ve never felt the need to have a gun.  Thanks to Trump and the conflict he nurses I just felt the need. I went and purchased a gun and will be shooting comps again as soon as Corona allows.  These people that just go buy one sit it on their nightstand and never use it scare the crap out of me. You need to be comfortable and rehearsed to use a gun effectively. Otherwise your just hoping for luck to be on your side.

It would be much more accurate to say they are owned by the same folks. They are not made by the same folks.

We need to get you drinking Private Picks neat.  Leave that shelf stuff behind.

So look here, at what point will congress step in for removal? Will it be after a US troop takes a citizen's life or even vice versa? Even a bunch of right wingers are starting to raise their eyebrows to this out of control situation.

I seriously think he never prepared for a situation like this and is winging it. At first I thought something like this was his own idea, but it's becoming more and more clear that he's not fit to handle these tasks.

Oh I’m sure some Senators will be very concerned, heck even a few deeply disturbed, but they won’t do anything tangible to control Trump.
