  1. How are you gonna watch that over the internet? Is Chuck really making the excuses for not fighting Silva? I thought Chuck's policy is that he'd fight anybody any time.
  2. He did. He faught Stephan Bonner and won unanimously. That cat he had the world-war with in Ultimate Fighter. Forrest needs to step it up. The Light Heavyweight division is getting cluttered with talent, it's time to make a very distinctive move or he'll find himself way back.
  3. ^ ^ ^ Nice read...I agree on almost all your points. I actually believe Liddell will catch Rampage being too aggressive their next fight. Liddell didn't like fighting in Japan and you could tell he was extremely tight before that match. He got caught in the mouth a lot, but the UFC is his home turf. He fights looser, way more calm, plays to the crowd. When they get pumped, he finishes combos with a fury. Definitley uses the spotlight of the UFC to his advantage. I'd have to take Liddell in that one. I believe Couture has got to be going all-out for this fight. Sylvia is underrated and we'll only see the extent of that when he fights CroCop. Couture's only chance is if he obliterates himself with training. I mean he has to be a machine to get inside Sylvia's ogre butt and land a few on the nose. Otherwise, I'd love to see Mirko fight Sylvia by this summer. Check that, put Rampage and Chuck on that same card. Cheers
  4. Wrestlers seem to go younger than 'em all. Thanks for the memories Bam Bam. Here's a story I found On Wikipedia about the man: In 2000, a story was floated that Bigelow had heroically saved children from a burning home. Bigelow had been returning home from an ECW show in Japan and discovered a house on fire near his home. Hearing children screaming inside, he burst into the house and rescued three kids, burning 40% of his body with second degree burns in the process. He spent two months recovering in a hospital. Here's Bam Bam's interview where he talks about the incident: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=12530023&BRD=2228&PAG=461&dept_id=447976&rfi=6 From that interview, Bigelow states: "Anybody that needs help with children's charities or fire and paramedics ... I'll do anything. Golf, dinners, anything to raise money. Whatever my schedule will permit me to do. It's for free, and I'd be happy to help. If the community is giving me their support, than I'll give my support. I just want to become part of Pennsylvania. I like kids and I like doing things for kids. Not all of us are as fortunate. There are children out there who just need a smile on their face. It goes a long way. I feel good about it, and there's a spot in heaven for me, and I don't ask anything for it." Well I'm sure you're up there my friend, thanks for the memories. RIP.
  5. Rampage is a very technically sound boxer, and he is one of the quickest and hardest strikers in LHW. That matchup would probably favor Rampage. Rampage has few weaknesses, one being that he tires easily. Sakuraba withstood the storm of the first 8 minutes and put him in an armbar. Rampage can be compared to Mike Tyson. They both come out with incredible fury, but their game dwindles if you let them gas. Rampage likes to pick people up and slam them repeatedly when he's in full guard. This would win him any street fight on pavement, but it certainly has to tire him out to do a full set of what are essentially clean & jerks during a fight. I'm definitley looking forward to Liddell vs. Rampage II.
  6. hahahaha. I don't know. Tim is good at throwing big bombs and could catch Cro Cop in the mouth with one. His combo's are underrated, and he's one heavy kid on the ground. I'd give the match to Cro Cop because of his incredible conditioning. He commands the ring with his standup. The sheer strength of his legs is enough to make his opponents weary. He is a striking powerhouse, and has fury. I do want to see a complete Heavyweight division in the UFC. It seems like the UFC would have a great atmosphere if Fedor faught Mirko, or Chuck faught Vitor again.

  8. Truthfully, I don't think Rampage could overwhelm Chuck now. Chuck could stick him from the outside. Chuck needs to do it within the next 3 years.
  9. Why not? He won't because he is family or friends with them? I may be able to understand if you don't want to beat up a family member, but I still think you should be able to get past that. You're bound to take some shots in any other fight, why not do it against a friend who's a contender and give each other a big hug when it's all over.
  10. A fight in the octagon doesn't mean you can't be friends. You go in to the fight knowing it's nothing personal. Why would Rampage let friendship get in the way of the goal?
  11. How can Tito's chances be over? He's in his early 30's. He is a great ground & pounder. He's fighting for the championship belt and losing might drop him out of title contention for a year maybe. I predict we'll see Tito vs. Chuck 3 within the next 2 years. As for the fight, Tito can't handle Chuck's takedown defense. Tito will shoot and get popped by Chuck or Chuck will bury it with his incredible takedown defense. Chuck is the greatest counter-striker in MMA today. Tito is a shoot fighter. Bad matchup for Tito. He'll get popped coming in all day, or he'll have to trade with Chuck from the outside. If they trade standing up the whole fight, Chuck will be the clear winner of the decision. Watch for Tito to be indecisive and caught for a split-second on his heels. Chuck is very good at reading his opponents actions, and will capitalize with big combos. Chuck winner by K.O. in 3rd.
  12. Tim is definitley untested, let's just say that. I think Cro Cop will actually stun Tim standing up. I don't think Sylvia can stop his hand speed. Cro Cop is great at picking his spots with the leg. He will definitley finish hand combos with a kick or delayed-kick, which are blasphemous, and always threaten to end a fight. Tim can throw nice counter-straights, and he will peg you on your way out, too. Which always gets his opponents thinking if they want to come in again. I don't know about Cro Cops jaw. Never really seen him take any haymakers. I know his fight with Fedor was a war, and that HAS to be saying something. Given that Fedor is probably the best pound for pound aggressive striker MMA has seen. Fedor is a pit bull, and virtually all of his fights have been against people taller than him. But nobody as tall as Sylvia. Sylvia knows how to use his defense and punish you with his very long reach. But I see Fedor landing 2 body shots and Sylvia, after all the training, manages to underestimate him still.
  13. Sonny Liston is not comparable to how decorated Matt has been. Matt is more like a Marvin Hagler. Big, powerful, and not incredibly dynamic. But what they are good at, they are very very very good at. St. Pierre can be compared to Sugar Ray Leonard. Dynamic, fast, tags - moves - frustrates - embarasses. They are fighters that get in your head. Sugar Ray did it a little more with his taunts and deliberate moves...St. Pierre does it with his stick/move & elusive style. If Matt bulks up enough to overpower St. Pierre's quickness, and focuses on keeping him down, there's a good chance that we'll see Pierre take his first "Hughes Haymaker." Otherwise, no denying Pierre is a bonafide champ. As I always say though, Hughes is the best welterweight I've ever seen fight.
  14. Cro Cop will still fight in PRIDE. He may only fight a few times in the UFC (which may actually gain him the title). Yet I think until Fedor and the other top heavyweights join UFC and go for the title, PRIDE will be the bread and butter of the heavyweight division. PRIDE isn't in trouble yet, but they need to make it more exciting.
  15. Like we discussed in an earlier thread...Matt just had an off night. St. Pierre is a good guy and a class act. He is a great fighter. But Matt can come back with a good gameplan and very hard preperation. I wouldn't be suprised if he gives St. Pierre a heavy matchup next fight.
