  1. Couture will have the boy ready. And Forrest is relentless in the pocket. I'm not going to make a case for my reasoning. It's a huge long shot. Why stop at calling for a decision when I'm already picking an upset of all upsets? Forrest by KO at 0:20 of round 1.
  2. Here's my review of UFC 75. Got in to the bar right when round 2 started between Cro Cop and Cheick. Right away I saw Cro Cop tentative and basically looking like Cheick's sparring partner. Everybody that has seen Cheick knows that the guy doesn't go for big knockouts, and rather chops you down by keeping the pressure on without stopping the action. Rarely throws any haymakers. Cro Cop was obviously looking for the one shot that would do the trick. But these guys that the UFC have begun to develop are solid. Cheick cut off everything Cro Cop tried to set up. Cro Cop was the most indecisive I've seen a fighter of his calibre since he faught Gonzaga. It's really sad to see. But I never was too high on Cro Cop, his leg kicks were outstanding, but really - it's like fighting infantry with a rocket launcher. You can blow a few people up, but some of them will figure it out and learn that it's all you have. As far as Cheick, the guy is impressing me. I'd like to see more power from him, and there's no way fighters can survive in the UFC without having a sweet ground game in their bag of tricks. Watching these guys on the ground was like watching a mud wrestling match for women. Thank God my girlfriend was next to me with nice perfume on or Id'a had a bitter-beer face from what I was watching. Cheick fights the likes of any jiu jitsu fighter, or a powerful counter puncher, it's over. And the UFC will probably really want to test Cheick the next few fights. Look for him to lose soon, yet learning a valuble lesson in the process. Bottom line of the Bisping vs. Hamill fight - Hamill got robbed. Hamill is overrated on the ground first of all. If Sinosic could nearly Kamora Bisping, Hamill shoulda damn well been able to at least get some strikes in. Maybe Bispings guard is underrated, but still - I heard Hamill was this rough SOB on the ground, and he "won" the fight by throwing good combos while standing. Bisping kind of looks shook up fighting in England all the time. I think fighting in America would actually make him a little more comfortable not to press so hard. He looked a little stiff without much juice on his punches. Gotta like the guy, and I was one to say a loss would benefit him. But I think in the back of his mind he knows that fight was a little iffy. Couldn't hear the post-fight interviews...so I don't know about any arrogance. But I think we will finally see Bisping fight somebody great. Wanderlei anyone? As far as Rampage vs. Hendo - again, I only saw the fights live at a bar, and without sound. So my judgments may be a little off until I review the dvr. But I think Rampage managed that fight very well. One thing I've stressed to people that point out that Rampage has been KO'd by a few people is that it's been mostly from barages from more than just fists. And Hendo's fists weren't going to do it with Rampage's boxing skills. Rampage got smacked a few times, but he has a GOOD JAW. Knees from the Chute Boxers did him in in the KO's fans have seen. And Hollywood Olympia Wrestle-God Henderson looked like Tito when Chuck would stand right back up after a takedown. It was a good fight, and Rampage won pretty handily. But both of these guys are premier atheletes, and we will be seeing Hendo again very soon - clocking somebody. Does anybody think Chuck has a chance anymore with that belly of his dangling before the likes of Rampage, Shogun, Hendo or Wanderlei? It'll be an amazing transformation if he can somehow negotiate a road to the belt. And let me just say this in closing. I'm calling it right now. The biggest upset in MMA history. I have Forrest Griffin knocking out Shogun Rua. No, you can't have what I'm smoking.
  3. I have Cro Cop tearing Kongo up. Could be a first-round KO. Neither of these guys have a ground game, and it could be the deciding factor. But Cro Cop should come out with a vengence, with a sharpened ground attack. Late first round TKO. Bisping and Hamill should be interesting. I want Bisping to win, but if Hamill gets on top of him there might be a quick TKO or Sub. I'll take Hamill in a semi-upset, TKO, 2nd round. As far as Rampage and Hollywood, there's no question Hendo has been riding the upset train. He out-muscled Wandie in his last fight, and did so after moving up in weight class. That is SERIOUS power when you can go from 185 to 205 and still have the smack to put down the calibre fighters he KO'd. He also has quick fists and serious wrestling skills. I'd love to see this fight go down to the ground. I think Rampage will powerbomb him, and proceed to end up winning the fight in the 4th by TKO.
  4. My take: Babalu ignored the ref. This was an episode of something, that if left to pass, could become a problem in the UFC. What happens if someone keeps going after a knocked out fighter even like Gomi did in Pride for about 10 seconds after the bell rang? Does a mob have to come in and tackle the fighter? The answer is yes, but whether it's Babalu or Fedor who does it, there should be a heavy, HEAVY suspension tagged on with legal action taken. Not mearly for assault, but for the defimation of integrity the UFC would endure. Many people are beginning to love the sport, but many are still on the fence. Episodes like this will only highlight something towards their arguments that it's a "freak show." So what does the UFC do to prevent something like this, other than the threat of post-fight punishment? Tazers? Snipers in the rafters with tranquilizer darts? How about the refs are trained to throw on their own naked chokes to these guys that think their issues are more important than the sport? I don't know, but to me things like the Gomi incident, Yves Edwards clocking a ref, and Babalu's ignorance towards a ref earn them nothing but a long, statement-sending punishment. And in the case of Edwards, he should lose all ability to fight ever again. Imagine if that happened in the NFL or NBA - GOODBYE.
  5. Been looking forward to this, like every other fan of the UFC, for a long time. Here's to hoping Zuffa makes the offer of their lives. :applause: :applause: :applause:
  6. "If you want to know how I feel, go to BJPenn.com right now." I also tried going there, it was down...lol. Whoever's running that sight is gonna get rear naked choked for sure.
  7. Kimbo choked someone out? That's new. Cool.
  8. I said earlier that I think Jens will catch him with a left. BJ almost had two submissions on Jens in the first...let's see what happens in the second. Jens is defending real well, BJ is fighting with a purpose.
  9. TUF 5 starts in a half an hour. Should be real good!
  10. Dear Showtime, Thank you for not showing Phil Baroni's Baroni. D0ublestr0ker0ll
  11. That was an AWESOME double-taunt with a dizzying combo by Frank. Usually I don't like Frank's taunts, but that was super-sly.
  12. Frank TORE his ACL/MCL last week??? Holy CRAP! This fight just got a little more interesting....
  13. Hahahahaha. All that guy needs are strings attached to his body and he'll be a regular actor from an old martial arts movie. :applause:
  14. So there is a fight in between the Shamrock/Baroni fight? Weird format...
  15. Just a reminder in the middle of the Baroni/Shamrock discussion: TUF 5 Finale' is on Saturday night at 9 on Spike TV. Should be a great night of fights. The two undercard fights I'll definitley be watching are Roger Huerta vs. Doug Evans & Floyd Sword vs. Thales Leites. Those 4 guys have some sweet records they're walking in with. Of course, the Pulver/Penn rematch is going to be off the hook. Those two guys are all-out warriors. I think I'm gonna take Pulver, although they match up very well with each other. If B.J. gets him down again, I think Pulver is is trouble. No bell saving this time. But I believe Jens will nail him with some of those straight lefts and ring his bell before that happens. Should be very entertaining.
  16. I might watch that on a stream. Shamrock (Frank) seems timeless. If he wins this he's right there with Bas Rutten and Randy Couture as longevity kings. 'Ninja' did have a split decision with Rampage, he's a good submission fighter. I'll be looking at his fight, too.
  17. Anywhere to download these fights ASAP? I want to watch them before I read anybody's post.
  18. I will be watching UFC 72 in about an hour and twenty minutes. I got Franklin beating Okami early and Forrest (hopefully) winning his fight in devistating fashion.
  19. Oh no... I don't know what to say about that. What a shame. Does this mean Sakuraba gets the win?
  20. This is a real good fight between Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout. Fisher is taking it to him! But Stout has a real nice jaw.
  21. Wow, in a recent video Shogun said he was training fairly lightly, but did comment a lot on the UFC and expressed that he wants to fight there. But not so soon! Otherwise, Dana White keeps talking about a matchup between Chuck and Wand, but you know how those guys are about each other. I also forgot BJ dropped to 155 to fight Jens, that's a decent threat...but more than half the great lightweights in the world are fighting in Japan. Gomi is a knockout artist, kindof like Tyson and Rampage. You make them gas, they usually lose...but he's still a freak of nature.
  22. Anthony Johnson will have a mean reach advantage over most any welterweight. He hit that guy with one left that made the guy fall asleep for a second, dude woke up while he was still standing up. Then another left made him go byebye. Gosh, the commercials are lasting 4x more than the fights.
