  1. I saw John Wall make poor decisions at key points offensively... mostly forcing things that weren't there. He would push the ball up, which was fine, but then he would make ill-advised drives into the lane and force up bad shots or turn the ball over. He was impatient and tried to force his will on the game. He'll get better, but he was disappointing late in that series when he tried to take things into his own hands.
  2. Yet Beal seems to be a cornerstone of the team, and has grown into that role before our eyes. I guess they didn't see that potential in Porter - at least not yet - and had other options besides.
  3. I am admittedly a Wizards bandwaggoner this year. I following them only casually during the regular season, but Bullet Fever is back and I've been watching this team in the playoffs. So can someone explain why Otto Porter was so buried on the bench this year? I know he was hurt early on, but he never seemed to get any significant playing time at all even when healthy. His PT was so scarce I wondered whether he was written off by management as a draft mistake ala Jan Vesely. What gives?

  5. I've driven in Boston. Nobody there even knows what a blinker is.

  7. Man the end was nerve-wracking. We kept missing shots to ice it, but then the Polish Hammer or Booker would tap the ball back to regain possession. Great win.
  8. This Week in Canada Crime News: Ottawa man arrested for exposing himself in a park Joanne Schnurr, CTV Ottawa Ottawa Police arrested a 62-year-old man this morning, after complaints about an adult male exposing himself at Mooney’s Bay Park. Donald Popadick has been charged with Indecent Act and Mischief. Police say they had several complaints since mid-April about a man exposing himself. Around 9 a.m. this morning, they were alerted to another call of someone on a pathway in the park. Police were nearby and arrested Popadick, http://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-man-arrested-for-exposing-himself-in-a-park-1.1798220#ixzz30NAGS1Qr
  9. You could do 5 minutes alone showing cutaways of Larry Bird as he watches from the stands and the look of pain on his face.
  10. Ghostly figure glides through soccer stands:
  11. Mesmerizing celebration by sychronized skating team. A couple of things stand out: - First pump girl in middle clearly the star. - Girl to the left climbs tall teammate like a tree. - Tanned girl to right stands in place and sobs. - Girl next to her does 360 looking for someone to hug.
  12. Pimping a home run hard: Rich Aude, a former first baseman for the Buffalo Bisons, The Triple-A affiliate of the Blue Jays hits a walk-off home run against Bob Wishnevski of the Louisville Redbirds. (Wishvnevski got a measure of revenge two months later when they faced off again and he drilled Aude in the back with a fastball enroute to a 3-1 win.)
  13. I heard that Abraham Lincoln, as a young man, didn't know how to pronounce some words, including "college," though he could recognize and read them. He was well read as a boy, though very isolated. He read above the literacy level of those in his social arena, so some words that he read and understood were never heard by him from the voice of another. So he had to guess at their pronunciation.
  14. When you get some quiet time, watch this one. Nobody falling down, no explosions, just two cool old ladies (especially Ria) experiencing flight for the first time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD2NtzEPBcA I just love Ria's infectuous laugh and her joy of living...
  15. Typo keeps the party going at Rockies' Stadium:
  16. Thanks. I'll keep them in mind for next spring...
