  1. Thanks but I disagree. Either the DH should be instituted across the league or no changes should be made. I don't think you can put the genie back in the bottle now.
  2. Make the DH optional in both leagues. Any team that wants to stick with tradition can do so, but now NL teams will be allowed to have a DH.
  3. Right...I knew nothing major was changing. But I thought Allen mentioned something about "utilizing the colors" more or something. That always left open the possibility of gold pants or something (at least in my mind). Thanks for the update though Mark...I trust you!
  4. Nice...so it's pretty much a guarantee that they're going to tweak things? That's good enough for me...something for me to look forward to!
  5. Right...that's what I'm hoping/guessing. I was wondering if TK or any of those guys knew anything else about this?
  6. Because I'm a dork and love things like uniform changes, do any insiders know how we should read those comments from Bruce Allen (from a couple months back) when he mentioned "utilizing the team colors"??? Are we going to see any tweaks to the jersey/pant combination with gold?
  7. I don't mind a change...even if simple. I didn't mind Zorn going white in warm weather and burgundy in cold weather. Maybe throw the yellow pants with the burgundy jerseys and that could be it. So, warm weather home games = white jerseys and burgundy pants and cold weather home games = burgundy jerseys and yellow pants.
  8. I think I joined during Marty's year (2001). It's evolved a lot but the one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that it's the best place to come and talk Redskin football. Thanks to all who make this possible!
  9. I would agree if they were being used to "recapture the magic" of the past. But, in a lot of cases (recently both New York teams are a good example), the retro uniforms just look good. The classic 1960s look that the Jets and Giants have are drastic improvements over the 1980s look that they previously wore. The same would be the case with the Skins. If they could go with that throwback from the Spurrier year (the spear helmet) or the uniforms from the George Allen era, I think it would look much better. I have NOT been a fan of the more modern uniform changes in the NFL lately. The Falcons, Vikings, Broncos, and even the Eagles (as subtle as theirs were) are all much worse than the uniforms they wore in the past. The last GOOD uniform change was the Bucs.
  10. So, does anyone (TK, jsteelz, etc.) have any information about a possible update to the uniforms?
  11. I would like that...especially if the jerseys were tweaked to look like the George Allen era uniforms. Does anyone in the know have any information about the possibility of the team updating the uniforms under Shanahan?
  12. Yes! This is what I had in mind when I bumped the thread earlier today. I like the recent trend of updating the uniforms by going retro (both NY teams and SF).
  13. I'm bumping this to ask if anyone "in the know" has any indication as to whether the new FO might go for a different look beginning in 2010? Are there any rumblings that we might revamp or go back in time with the uniforms to completely turn over a new leaf?
  14. Well, actually Gibbs just went white tops at all home games. Either way, the actual game-day temperature is rather meaningless since the teams have to submit the jersey colors for each home game before the season starts. So, Zorn would have had to choose white or burgundy for this game back in September.
  15. I'm guessing the classic white top with burgundy pants. They'll probably switch over the burgundy tops at home vs. Denver in mid-November (except for the Cowboy game).
  16. True...but I don't even mean someone like LL or jsteelz. This board sends people to cover every game. At some point so far, I'm sure someone has heard which color jerseys we're wearing tonight. Remember that last year we switched to burgundy at home around this time of year. I think it's safe to say that we'd have heard something if they were sporting throwbacks.
  17. So, I'm sure an insider knows if we're wearing burgundy or white tonight. Any word?
  18. I'm guessing the Jets just refers to their suddenly awesome defense.
  19. If a WR-starved team like New York is cutting a veteran WR, I'm staying away. That would be like people lining up to sign our OL cuts.
  20. I now understand that rules...25 years of one result (not winning in white pants at home) isn't enough, but 29 years of one result (not winning in burgundy jerseys at home) is. Thanks!
  21. Coincidence. Between 1980 and 2004, we had 0 years of making the playoffs when we wore white pants for at least one home game. Then, in 2005, we wore white pants during home games down the stretch and made the playoffs. Conclusion, we played well and it had nothing to do with uniforms.
