Bump for a question... Does anyone know if a uniform change of any kind is in the works? I'm not really asking for opinions, but more for information from people in the know. Thanks!

It would be a great look and nice "retro" update to the uniforms of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

I think it's time for the team to bring back the gold (yellow) pants for both home and away games. They can always keep the burgundy pants as an alternative color to wear at times (many teams have different options). I'd love to see them wear the burgundy and gold at home and the white and gold on the road. That's all! Nothing major but a nice tweak to the uniform to completely break from the past of white/burgundy and burgundy/white.

Not for the vast majority of Redskin history it isn't. The home whites is a relatively recent development. I want Zorn to put his own stamp on this team. Gibbs liked white. Marty liked burgundy. Zorn seems like he'll switch it up. I like that...Joe is gone. Memories of his 3 championships will always be associated with home whites!

Ever??? I'm sure. Who cares? We will probably be wearing the burgundy tops for 3 of the next 4 home games (except Dallas). That will be a cool change of pace. I would imagine that we'll keep wearing the white pants every week for the rest of the year.

That uniform with a slightly "redder" burgundy would be perfect. I'd miss our indian head logo though.

I'd love to see them tweak the unis to this!!! Burgundy jerseys with yellow pants or white jerseys with yellow pants. Same helmet. I also like that they are going to change things up this year. When all is said and done, I'd like to remember that white jerseys at home as a predominantly Gibbs thing...a representation of our glory years.

If true, that's pretty cool. I'd like to eventually move to wearing the darks at home for all 8 games.

You wouldn't like the glory years of our franchise to be slightly distinguished and have it's own unique attribute? I'm just asking...you obviously have the right to want to continue the whites at home.

I'm ready for a change as well. I'd love it if the white home jerseys were remembered as a *mostly* Gibbs thing (even though Norv continued the tradition when he was hired).

I like the yellow pants idea but I'm not a huge fan of the all-burgundy unless it's just occassionally. How cool would it look if we sported burgundy tops and yellow pants at home and white tops and yellow pants on the road?

I think it would be cool to do a couple things. First of all, for the majority of our history, we've worn the dark jerseys (burgundy) at home. I think we should revert back to that at a minimum. I want to remember the white jerseys at home as predominantly a Joe Gibbs thing (even though Norv kept it in place). Secondly, I think we should come up with some type of new look. Nothing like Minnesota or Atlanta, but some type of retro look like the New York teams have done in the recent past. Even if we did burgundy jerseys, yellow pants, and the current helmet at home and white jerseyes, yellow pants, and the current helmet on the road, that would be great. To me, the current set up is always going to be a Joe Gibbs thing, and I want that to be preserved.

I think he meant that we typically wear the white tops 14 times per year (we wear burgundy at Dallas and usually one other time on the road).

I hope we change our unis to a retro look (like the Giants and Jets have done in recent years). Any of our throwbacks from the past 5 years would be a cool start. I'd like for us to wear dark at home though. I would like to look back and have the home whites be a predominantly Gibbs thing.

I think the team should change to the darks at home. To me, the "home whites" were a Joe Gibbs thing and they somewhat defined our golden age of success in the 1980s and early 1990s. I think they should stay unique to him and we should sport the darks at home (maybe with gold pants??) like we did when Marty came in to coach.

Well, I never LOVED the idea that we changed what we do because of them. I think it's almost more of a slap in the face not to acknowledge their traditions rather than base what you do around them.

I completely agree. I don't have any huge ideas for how we should update them, but I like the idea of leaving the old Gibbs uniforms behind. Some random thoughts...these uniforms are NOT classic as some people argue. They are only about 30 years old. The Packers and Bears have classic uniforms that haven't changed...we do not. Also, I think no matter what we do, the new coach should have us wear burgundy at home. I loved Joe's tradition of whites at home, but it is HIS tradition, not a Redskin one.

We wouldn't own the tie-breaker over Minnesota if we beat them and lose to Dallas and they win their last game. They would be 9-7 and we'd be 8-8. The only way we can make the playoffs at 8-8 is if both the Vikings and Saints lose out. Basically, we need to gain a game on both of them. Each team has 2 games left so we to win more game than both of them.

We need to roll into Dallas in camos like we did in 1982 or 1983.
