  1. This is an excellent trade. Picked up a first, cut salary and Morris and Gallinari will be deadline trade candidates. They are already solidly under the cap which means they will be able to take on bad contracts for picks this off-season.
  2. I'd be open to a trade back. Maybe the Thunder want to move up and grab their guy and the Wiz pick up a future first.
  3. Too good to be true but they do need to move Poole to bring Dray back. No matter what they say those two cannot co-exist on a team and be successful.
  4. Rumors of the Pelicans wanting Scoot could get Portland someone like Zion depending on what the Hornets do at 2. Those the rumors.
  5. TYou do understand that Kuminga is only 20 and is already showing he can be a big time player with good range. 52/37 splits with eFG of 57%. GS doesn't want to go young so they will move him to reset that rookie clock. He's putting up great numbers on the Wiz from the jump. Some how it would be better to roll the dice on a college player that shoots 30% or worse from three? To each their own.
  6. If GS wants to move up and they are looking to unload Kuminga, I'd happily trade back to 19 and pick up Kuminga. If they want Delon Wright Morris, that works as well.
  7. I get why people are upset. A team like the Suns deciding to go after Beal was worst case scenario. I definitely would've preferred Lowry, Robinson and a couple of firsts (assuming the Heat were never giving up Herro) but that's not where Beal wanted to go once the Suns got involved. But think about this in terms of the likelihood of Beal getting hurt if the Wiz waited and what that does to trying to trade him. The Wiz cleared $161 million in the last three seasons of this deal. We don't want a Wall situation all over again where it would cost the Wiz picks to move him.
  8. It will be interesting to see how the new CBA impacts teams and their potential desire to trade away players. Wiz will have a ton of cap space and could stack up some assets pretty quick over the next couple of years. It's going to take time but at least there is a direction. 5 years late but better than being mid forever.
  9. The Wiz only have one guaranteed contract on the books for the 2024-25 season. The benefit of trading Beal. Teams can dump their bad contracts and send the Wiz assets to do so. This franchise needed to bottom out and we are about to do so.
  10. The saddest part is that fans have been begging for a full rebuild for a few years when it was painfully obvious to everyone except Ted and Tommy. If we had a front office go down that road, they would've trade Bertans for firsts and Beal for a haul. We'd be really good now.
  11. The final details haven't been reported yet because the Wiz have been given a few days to try and trade CPIII.
  12. Maybe the Wiz got an addition 2nd for him in this deal? That's what he would've gotten at the deadline at the most.
  13. That kinda sucks, but dude is gonna be 25 before next season starts. If Beal only wanted to go to the Suns, the deal would never get better. Plus, the Wiz clearing the last three years and $161 million is salary is big
  14. Beal's NTC absolutely killed the Wiz today. Worst case scenario was Beal picking a team with no firsts and no young players to trade. Tommy Sheppard was one of the worst GMs in pro sports. Tommy and EG set this franchise back a decade.
  15. I'd rather see Miller drafted. These guys shooting under 30% are a worry. But, dude seems to get the basket at will and whomever the FO goes after, I'm trusting them until proven we can't. Best FO on paper we've had in my life.
  16. We'd have to include the 8th pick. Front office wants in the top-3 for either Miller or Scoot. They must think both are franchise players.
  17. Several teams have now been listed as going after Beal. Portland hasn't been mentioned so it would have to be a multi-team deal that brings the 3rd pick to Washington.
  18. I'll be surprised if a deal is not done by the draft. All sides are motivated to get something done quickly. I've heard a lot of people talk about this but it doesn't really make much sense. Is Beal going to say to tell Miami what to trade and what not to trade in order to get him to approve a trade? I think that's very unlikely because he's immediately second guessing Pat Riley and their GM. Remember, the Wiz have to trade him now. They don't have to be in a hurry if the return is garbage.
  19. Deni isn’t getting traded for a first round pick nor is any team paying him $20 mill per. If GS offered Kuminga and the 19th pick for the Wiz pick, I’d take it. I’d be surprised if Beal isn’t traded by/on draft night. In a hypothetical where all that happened and the Wiz got the 18th and 19th pick plus Herro and Kuminga, I’d be thrilled with that as a starting point to rebuild.
  20. Yes, SGA is a guy you can build a championship contender around.
  21. The thing about OKC is they also have tons of cap space as well. SGA is at worst top-15 and is still only 24. He's top-10 potential over the next couple of years if he's not right now.
  22. Similar to OKC rebuilding. In 2-3 years we should be able to see a promising direction with a couple of core all-star potential/caliber youngsters.
  23. Probably not be as much money to get from other teams as there would have been from Tommy.
  24. This is amazing news. This is what Winger needed to know to be sure a complete reset could be done. We are going to see a rebuild. Also, KP is opting in which makes him a good trade chip until the trade deadline.
  25. I'd be shocked if Deni got extended this off-season. There is no reason to do so given his lack of production. Everyone on this team is officially a trade or sign & trade candidate with the new front office. I expect a lot of roster turnover to accumulate young players or draft assets. Winger already said they aren't running it back, which was great to hear. Hopefully KP opts in to his final year as that would increase his trade value with an expiring contract for a good player. I know a lot of people are talking about Beal to Miami, potentially, but I could see Kuz being a fit down there as well. They need size, Kuz can play initiate the offense and he can play solid defense. He won't ever be super efficient but playing next to Bam and Butler and being in the Heat culture might improve him a bit in that area. Plus, it's a lot less in terms of money.
