When did you get off the "Snyder is learning" train?

Despite intervals of self-inflicted wounds that erupt as reliably as Old Faithful, many Redskins fans seem to hold on to the belief that the "Snyder is Learning" train will one day pull into the station of Gridiron Eden. This arrival will occur on the day when Dan finally completes his intrepid quest for football enlightenment, which he is surely undergoing, even as we speak.

In this mystical magical land, Dan Snyder does only three things:

1) He pays the employees

2) He holds the employees accountable to the highest standards without ever micromanaging them

3) He ensures that the image and reputation of this storied franchise suffers no undue public embarrassment or tarnishing

In this brave new world, we regularly hear confidence-building reports of the top notch GM who collaborates well with the long-tenured head coach. They are praised for creating a winning roster of tough players who eat, drink, and sleep football. The owner inserts himself into this well-oiled machine only to serve as an inspirational leader who fosters a healthy work environment. He settles disputes with discernment and wisdom, using a tough but fair hand.

The team's front office leadership is free to run the show as they see fit. They have a long-term plan based on sound football principles, forged from years of NFL experience. They do not deviate from that plan at the first sign of trouble. They never over-react. They keep their eyes on the prize. They treat everyone more or less equally, always with respect, dignity and class.

Wait...you know what? I know where this land is! It's on the way to Santa's workshop, a few miles north of Shangri-la, and 914 cubits due west of the Fountain of Youth.
