clubisyohankovic Posted January 1, 2006 Share Posted January 1, 2006 Good lord...I think many of us are acting the way we accuse the media of acting...that is, having our preconcieved biases make us unable to see when something positive is occurring and trying to find whatever negative we can to continue justifying our positions. Art Posted January 1, 2006 Share Posted January 1, 2006 TJ said that what the Skins had accomplished in one offseason was incredible. Give the guy a break. He was very complimentary. Except it's not a compliment to not know what you're talking about. This team was well positioned from a talent perspective to BE very good if we got good QB play and we came together. Both things are happening and we've been better. The problem analysts have is they seem surprised it could occur when we had a Top 5 offensive line, a Top 5 runner, a Top 5 defense all waiting to go heading into the year. And we've seen a Top 5 receiver and Top 5 tight end emerge with high level play at QB for the most part. The incredible thing is we're not BETTER positioned than we are, which can be explained by the coming together period and a brutally hard schedule and strength of win this team has gone through. bulldog Posted January 1, 2006 Share Posted January 1, 2006 if Mike Holmgren could be on the brink of being fired a couple of years ago after disappointing as HC and now has his team as the #1 seed in the NFC at 13-2, why is it so surprising that a more successful coach in Gibbs could take over a 5-11 team and have them in playoff contention at 9-6 in his second season?
