I do know one thing for certain: The only thing ignoring them, staying medium and going high when they go low has gotten us is Donald Trump in the White House and the Alt Right Nazi's dominating online culture and now moving it to the streets. "Don't feed the troll" politics is no longer an option. As much as Tina Fey and her cake-eating white privilege might hope otherwise, it just isn't. Some of us actually have something tangible to lose in this fight.

Btw i agree that violence for the sake of violence is stupid and entirely counterproductive (don't get me started on the vandalism). But I don't think you should be lining up to get canned at the salt pits ala Gandhi or stomped out on the bridge ala MLK and Co. This ain't that type of fight. I like what I've been personally doing. Just going to as many rallies as I can and not taking **** from anyone but never instigating direct confrontations. You remember when we were younger and you'd always tried to get the other person to swing first. Like once that happened you were free to do anything? Of course both kids would get suspended no matter who threw first but that mindset was always there. Like it was a legal loophole for violence or something. It's stupid but I think that's the way to play it here. Confront, don't instigate and defend don't escalate. No weapons but be strong. This isn't the mid 20th Century and this isn't a huge empire canning half-naked Indians. Empathy is a smaller factor. You have to stand up for yourself but you can't give them ammunition to use against you in their propaganda. It's a fine line to walk.

If you can stand a bunch of whiney Germans crying "woe is us. Nobody I know was a Nazi. I swear! It must have been the other Germany!!" then I really recommend "The Memory of Justice". It's available to stream on HBO right now. It's fascinating because it's from the 70's so it's almost exclusively folks being interviewed who experienced the Third Reich firsthand. Including Albert Speer, Hitler's favorite architect and good friend and who, for all his faults, is really an amazing man (the most senior Nazi to own the Holocaust and condemn Hitler and spent the last 30+ years of his life walking the walk), the admiral who was officially the last head of state of Nazi Germany, who is a bitter old curmudgeon, the psychologist of the Nuremberg defendants, a lot of the legal folks involved in the trial and many, many others. It's 4 1/2 hours long and obviously can get very heavy at times so you might want to watch it in batches. If you've never seen it though, it really is a must watch. Can't recommend it enough. Recidivism rate is the first thing I look at. Japan has a ridiculously low recidivism rate from what I remember. Jim Webb, the former Senator and one politician that I can recall ever spending any time on this issue, was always talking about Japan. That was 10 years ago and I'm not trying to remember the details now. And yes, the Nordic countries are the easy answer. I have to say though, It's borderline offensive, as someone who's been through the justice system, to see someone claim it's the best in the world. It really makes me cringe and feel legitimate anger. I wouldn't wish a trip through our justice system on anyone. It is life destroying. It will literally follow you and haunt you until the day you die. It's punitive based, not rehabilitative. It's a philosophy from the 19th Century outfitted for the 21st Century. And the results speak for themself. I always--before and now as an addiction therapist--see people who loudly support our justice system...until the moment their child ends up in it. Then they see. Then they understand. I really don't want to get into it all that in the thread though. Just wanted to post this in here (this is still the American Nazi thread right?)

I meant the whole thing was a purge, not just Rommel. It was the SS using the plot to assert control over the Wehmarcht once and for all and getting rid of anyone who may be a threat to Hitler. Like with the Trump rally, one of the few men there the biggest of them, I found myself quickly running security, mainly trying to protect the kids. There were quite a few times where it got ugly and almost popped off. I enjoyed it, felt like I helped and did something productive and had no problem with it. Last night at the rally had what I was certain was an alt-right ****stain there to take pictures of people (i swear I have a sixth sense for spotting them), let him know I spotted him, put all my focus on him and just mean mugged him until he quickly ran off. Same thing. Felt like i served a purpose. I can go on but you get the point. So yeah, I'm not opposed to violence but I have no interest in going out with violence being the goal. I like to think of it more like being a bounced rather than a street fighter. My opinion, violence for the sake of violence is when bad and stupid things happen and innocent people get hurt. Btw here's an idea for left wingers and other anti-Nazi. Rather than staying always nreactionary in this, why not stage a massive and peaceful rally and march in an area with a high rate of alt right ****stains? One, show we aren't scared of you. And two, be a good chance to meet the locals and destroy the caricatures they are force fed on Fox everyday. Just go in and be nice as ****. Doesn't need to be down south. I'm thinking Indiana or West Virginia.

One last question I'm sure someone here can answer for me (maybe the honorable @Predictoas I recall him commenting on experiences with them in San Francisco): what is the overlap between anarchist groups and antifa groups? Are they one and the same? Is it antifa groups getting their panties in a bunch and tearing apart a McDonald's anytime more than 10 rich people ho through the same doorway? Or are those anarchist groups? I want to commit myself and get more directly involved, on something more specific and focused--rather than just floating around whenever something pops up--but I have no interest in covering for a bunch of kids and getting pulled into their Galleanists cosplays. Just starting to gather info right now.

Btw i strongly believe that most white supremacists are soft ass ****es when they are forced to man up. That's why they're attracted to such a group and so desperately cling to this false idea of a greater white culture (nothing like Nazi's calling slavic Russia the one true white nation.) They need something bigger than themselves to face the world. Throw in hate taught from their parents or influences from the internet or social anxiety, a perceived lack of options and the bitterness that stirs or the anger from being born with a tiny dick and/or never getting any **** or some level of combination from the four and instead of family or religion or a normal social group or you know, just manning up, they turn to Nazism. It's all rather pathetic really.
