Question for any physiotherapist

Recommended Posts

I've had a very weak wrist ever since I broke 2 bones in my right wrist about 7 years ago. I wanted to know if there's some type of exercise or weight lifting in which I can do to strengthen it. I get popping sounds when I'm using a knife for cooking and have had to go back to wearing my brace.

Anything that can help would be appreciated.

I have both bookmarked, and as for better than the alternative, any new knowledge is much more than I had before. Believe me when I say, I will be doing the exercises tonight and on a daily basis. I don't want my wrist to get to the point that strumming my guitar becomes bothersome.

I'm not a physio but the following have been used for wrist strengthening/recovery

(1) Stretch - use the other hand to bend your hand back with a straight arm

(2) Squeeze a rubber ball, or tennis ball

(3) Use a small dumbell (or can of soup), perform wrist extensions (palm down) and wrist flexions (palm up)

Thank you, will give it a try.
