TODD
Vote for the player who you think was the Offensive MVP for us this year. My vote goes to Clinton Portis-- only guy on the offense who won us games and was a threat on every play despite his inconsistencies.

KirkNC
It sucks when you are thinking of which you could possibly justify giving it too and not how to pick between 3/4 very deserving guys. Think I have to pass this year on giving any player on the offense that honor.
jimster
Cooley exceeded his expectations this year, even on a poor offense.
dwills1
nooooooooo way. coles grabbed 90 balls on a bad toe....with 2 different style qb's... you do the math
SNEET
Good polls, Todd. I hope tons of people vote. CHRIS COOLEY.
Fred Jones
I am going with the veteran Coles over the rookie Cooley.
J Thomas
This is a no-brainer. In order to give someone the honor, you have to have a player who showed the ability to lead and to produce consistently throughout the season. In the games I watched, I didn't see anyone who fit that criteria. A couple of players like Portis had a few above average games, but nothing to make me bestow the honor this year. I take a pass on this one. Hopefully, after another year in the system and some personnel changes, the Redskins offense can at least become an average one. Had they been able to score 19 points every game this year, they could have easily had a 10-12 win season with the way the defense played. Ah, if if's and butts were candy and nuts... Henry
Cooley shows promise, but offensive MVP? No way. I has to be Portis. 1300 yards rushing in THIS offense? He accounted for 35% of our offense. No one else even comes close.
MumboSauce
Portis..then Cooley.
rdsknbill
Seems to me that both Coles and Cooley did what was asked of them. Although, overall, I think that Cooley deserves it basically because he has extremely soft hands and can break tackles.
asnpcwiz
This one is easy...it's CP. CP produces yardages...Redskins wins games...nuff said.
Skeletor The Invincible
Well, as much as my heart wants to give it to Cooley, Portis gets my vote. On a side note: No Mark Brunell?
wickedwitch
Where's Brunell? Cooley. Portis was too inconsistent.
jtyler42
I was torn between Cooley and Portis, but I had to go w/Portis b/c his performance directly correllated to our W/L's....
Henry
Originally posted by wickedwitch Cooley. Portis was too inconsistent. Interesting claim considering that in our first three wins combined Cooley had a grand total of one catch for 16 yards and no TDs. I like that the kid came on at the end of the season, but consistancy throughout the season and being a vital component to winning games were not some of Cooley's defining characteristics this year. While not perfect, Portis was far ahead in those categories. We're not talking about the 99 Rams here. Noone had a great season. But Portis was the best of the bunch. I'm not trying to take anything away from Cooley. I'm a big fan. But he's not the centerpiece of this offense by a long shot. He's not Gates or Witten. I'm just trying to point out the difference between 'fan favorite' and 'MVP.'

Henry
Originally posted by BigDaddyShoo cooley became ramsey's go-to guy too I'm not sure that would make him the offensive MVP considering Ramsey only started seven games. However, in Ramsey's seven starts, Cooley caught 26 passes for 218 yards. Over that same time Coles caught 41 passes for 378 yards. Cooley DID catch 3 TDs over that span, so yes, Cooley became Ramsey's freind in the red zone. But are we saying those three TDs are enough to dub Cooley the MVP of the entire offense? Frankly, if we're just talking about the last half of the season, I'd give that honor to Ramsey over Cooley.
asnpcwiz
Cooley is a great tight end and did bail us out of a lot of bad situations, but calling him our go to guy is a pushin it.

Agreed, but if you go with the entire season, it's got to be CP. He's the only one that played consistantly when given the chance.
Drex
Portis 343 1315 3.8 AVG 5 TD Cooley 34 290 8.5 5 TD Cooley had a decent rookie season but to suggest he is the team's offensive player of the year? That's a little too much. Heck, it's WAY too much.
riggins44
It's a hard call between Coles and Cooley. My heart says go with Cooley. He lead the receivers in TD catches. Should be interesting to see what he does next year.
