The Diehard
:dallasuck :puke: After the first drive the team closely resembled the team that made me feel sick to my stomach about facing the same people every Monday who diss my beloved Skins. After I convinced many of them that this is the kind of team I grew up with (the Gibbs era teams) we regress to the Spurrier era and make complete fools of ourselves - I took the day off to regroup and watch the tape again. I am starting to agree that Brunell just might not be the answer and that we need to give Patrick the reps. He looked good yesterday and if not for the drops we would have won. The drops will go if he gets the reps, plain and simple. The defense was still pretty outstanding minus the second quarter when they had to carry the offense. Bottom line is we still have a good team but not a great one - next year more realistic but we can still make this a memorable one if they all but into the Joe Gibbs way and stop making the "Spurrier like" mistakes like we did yesterday. Dallas will be a good test since they made us look horrible last year. Maybe we go in with a chip on our shoulder and provide a little payback. What say to that!! freakofthesouth
You said it CP. Next week's performance will show a lot. And good post The Diehard; you might have to change your name though... All the QB controversy going on here may be a moot point. I don't think Brunell is healthy enough to play next week; we'll see as the week progresses, but he may not be. Beyond that, do we really think that Gibbs will allow a QB controversy w/ his team? That's just kindof a distraction; I was thinking that whoever we chose, that's who we would go with. Right?
The Diehard
Yes - I wouldn't be upset if he requested me to change but I've had the name for over a year.
The Diehard
Also would request a change from "The Cheerleader" as part of the deal. If a player gets 20 to 30 G's for a number I think I could get a new moniker. I'll await word from Diehard

Saint Joe
I was also having those Spurrier-flashbacks when they were running those wide receiver screens non-stop. They actually worked pretty well this time around though.
terpskins
Ramsey looked good moving the ball that Brunell, no doubt about it. The offense just stagnates when Brunell is out there. I'm not sure how much of that is Brunell and how much of that is the playcalling. For instance, I really am not a big fan of having Portis run between the tackles...it's really not his strong suit. Maybe we need to spread out the field a little more.
Rockville Redskin
I feel strong about this team and it needs some time; however, Brunell made me cringe everytime passed. His delivery is a little bit slower with him being a lefty and having to swivel his lower body and I felt the defense caught onto this. I felt we were slower with him. The same can be said about Ramsey right now - I'm starting to cringe every time he throws, because I am worried about which team is going to catch it. - The defense knows the tendecies of both QB's - especially Ramsey. - As soon as he went in the game, the Giants defense started blitzing a lot more, because they know from last year that he will most likely still be holding the ball when they get to him. I like Brunell's smarts and maturity, but if Ramsey can learn to read quicker and make quicker decisions, he is going to be dangerous. - I really hope that learning will begin this week in practice. Mr. S
Brunell does have the smarts, wont make stupid plays, but fumbles can obviously happen to anyone. Ramsey needs to learn still when to throw and when to take a sack, or just throw it out of bounds. By the way, it looks like 'The Diehard' has been a member longer than many of us here have, member number 406, if DieHard hasnt made him change it yet, will he now? freakofthesouth
Man, you guys are f**kin' brutal on Ramsey. He hasn't taken reps w/ the first team in a long time, the team's morale was WAY down after a game full of Murphy's Law, and all you guys can do is insult the kid? Did you ever think that his mistakes can be corrected? Think in the long-term here people: He can learn how to throw the ball away. Beyond that, at least one of his pics was a miscommunication. Let 'em learn the plays before you judge him! :kungfu:
jimster
that's basically what I said - everything wrong with Ramsey is correctable - I just hope he can learn fast. I think Brunell is valuable to the team in the aspect of being a mentor to Ramsey as well.
NoCalMike
Actually, next week against the Cowboys, as much as WE WANT IT....still doesn't really mean squat in the big picture. I am telling you guys, the goal for a team IN THIS CURRENT SITUATION should be 5-5 by week 10. I don't care who we happen to beat, or lose too(although of course division opponents are the best to beat for late season implications).
