jimster
Redskins Waive WR Swayne 04/02/2004 By Gary Fitzgerald Redskins.com The Redskins announced Friday that the team has released wide receiver Kevin Swayne. Swayne was signed on March 26, the first day of the Redskins' mini-camp last weekend. He participated in the three-day mini-camp but decided to leave the team earlier this week. Swayne, a former Arena League star, was a three-year veteran with the New York Jets. He also had brief NFL stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. kappaluvacee
skins are too deep at wr for any marginal players to make the team.
Flowtrain
That's a shocker - I had such high hopes Swayne. He's right up there alongside the other ex-Jets David Loverne and Khary Campbell that have rejuvinated their careers as Redskins.

bnacpa
Channel 9 news tonight reported that he asked for his release because he realized that his chances for any playing time on this team are very slim when teams usually head into the season with 6 WR's: Coles, Gardner, Jacobs, McCants, Thrash only one opening left between Swayne, Cloman, and Russell. The point I was trying to make was that Swayne was better then Scott Cloman, who has never made a final 53 man roster yet in his entire career. And you know I'm right. Mr. S
We are going go have a lot of signings and releases up til the season starts, gonna be one crazy ride i tell you. I agree with what Swayne did, we have receivers stacked, he wanted to draw interest from another team like maybe Baltimore.
