I loved Brunell back when he led the Jags to the AFC championship game. Back when he was a serious threat to beat you with his legs as well as his arm. We all know that was the old Brunell and he hasn't done much since that season to prove he's a great QB. A good QB? Yes. An Old QB? yes. Which is why I think Patrick will beat him out. Pat has all the tools to excell in the Joe Gibbs system. The canon arm, the smarts, the guts, and he's only 25. Brunell will provide for us a great backup plan if Pat gets hurt, better than Tim I can't throw the long ball Hasselback.

Did I mention im rooting for Pat Ramsey?

Love Ramsay's arm and guts but he's not very accurate on a consistent basis. Trade him while his value is high and let Joe bring in someone who he can groom and is willing to be groomed. Rypien and Schroeder weren't exactly household names. Plus, Ramsay isn't the most mobile QB in the league. If he's gonna pout then get him out.

You don't realize that Gibbs needs insurance at 2nd string QB be it Ramsey or Brunell, and the 2nd guy won't be a completely inexperienced rookie or Hasselbeck.

In case you didn't know, Ramsey had a broken foot the whole season. I'd like to see how mobile Vick is with a broken foot. Oh yeah, he sat out most of the season because of his injury!

Brunell is like the 9th rated passer in NFL history. We could do alot worse at the QB position. I think Patrick could learn alot from him.

Not only is there no legit competition (Brunell will be the starter), but I don't think the Ramsey trade situation is over by any stretch of the imagination.

Jimmy Sexton won't renegotiate Chris Samuels' contract without the Skins trading Ramsey. It's still a problem, and Sexton is still demanding a trade.

Why do we need Chris Samuels to renogotiate his contract? We're UNDER the salary cap, other players can still be released to clear room if needed. Jimmy Sexton doesn't have the under... I mean upper hand here.
