Just a question, anyone know that if a player retires in the game, does their contract automatically stop affecting your cap? Im guessing so, but I dont wanna be too sure.

Yeah it's off the books when they retire.

yeah, I think so. I'm addicted to Franchise mode and I 'm pretty sure the cap dollars just dissappear.

Players don't retire before their contracts end, anyway. right?

ive actually had players retire often before their contracts were up, i believe. I notice that age 35-36 is a fairly decent time they retire, so I just keep doing contract extensions to save up space.

I don't think so, I think they just retire anytime. I think its' just random.

BTW, I am also addicted to the franchise/owner mode. I've finished 30 years three times.

In one of them, I won the Super Bowl 10 times with the Redskins.

Yeah. I love Franchiose mode... but I could never go 30 years.. after the real NFL names are all gone and only CPU manufactured ones are left, it gets unreal and almost lame.

By the way, you know that superbowls only count if you let the comp sim all the season games...

I got a question,

How do you try to find good rookies, the fans always end up booing me because even when i have high picks. I end up with overall 73-77 rookies with the exception of one running back that was overall 81.

I do simulate all the games. I only play pre-season ones just to look at my teams. But it gets pretty boring later in the franchise becuase my team is so good and there really is no more challenge. I make the playoffs almost every year.

After for scouting rookies, I tend to find better players in the later rounds. I usually trade my first round pick away for a position that I need. You just have to look at the info they give you and made a gut decision on who you think will do the best.

I know it's still early, but what do you guys think will be some of the new features that they will add to Madden '05? Madden '04 had some huge updates with the owner mode, I can't see EA adding another big featuree like that for this coming year.

Well, one thing I do is to try and get better picks is sign some high profile guy i dont need and trade them for high picks. As to find high rookies, i usually range between 65-80. However, the draft classes i used are simulated ones from the ncaa 2004, and i got players on my team like Kevin Jones at 82, Ben Roethlisberger at 83, Sean Taylor at 92, Heath Miller at 82, Justin Blaylock at 80, Tommie Harris and Dave Ball at 79. One thing i heard to do is increase the stats of lotsa profile college players in ncaa, then simulate the season and save the draft class to make all the players good.

Franchise mode in 04 is too easy. If I let the comp sim all the games ill win at least 20 superbowls and never have a financial problem. They need to make it more challanging.

Once you move a team, I don't think you can retain the original tema logo.

Good question. I actually like the skins team in Madden '04. They have the speed to go against basically any other team in the game. Spurrier's playbook if my favorite in the whole game, it actually works very well. I would say I'm going to skip 2005 and just download the roster update for 2004.
