Brave Posted July 8, 2001 Share Posted July 8, 2001 Just finished watching (and taping) the highlight shows of Super Bowls XVII, XXII, and XXVI back to back to back on ESPN Classic. I have the last two games taped, but had nothing on the first one. Lots of good Riggins footage! And, of course, THE PLAY. bulldog Posted July 8, 2001 Share Posted July 8, 2001 I went to SB XXVI in Minneapolis, but looking back on it what you forget after all this time is just how crisp and in sync that Redskins team looked on the field. Gibbs and Petitbon had the offense and defense choreographed beautifully and there couldn't have been a greater contrast with Buffalo whose players betrayed a sense of insecurity and made mistake after mistake from the opening play when Thurman Thomas misplaced his helmet to the interception right after the half to Kurt Gouveia by Jim Kelly that iced the game. bulldog Posted July 9, 2001 Share Posted July 9, 2001 it is amazing to me that the 1994 Redskins actually won 3 games. looking at the roster from that year, the cupboard was bare and except for Tre Johnson, Norv didn't bring in any players those first couple of years that ever amounted to much in the NFL outside of career backup Gus Frerotte. My sister works for a big cable television network and I'm hoping I can talk her into copying the games for me on another set of tapes without the commercials.
