In 1996 we started out 7-1, and a lot of Skins fans were thinking Super Bowl; I think most were thinking post season at least, and then your foot is in the door. Sadly, the 9th game began our unraveling, as we faced teams we were ill-equipped to beat, at least as evidenced by our 2-6 finish. We ended up 9-7, in THIRD in our division, missing the playoffs outright. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/was1996.htm Ahhh, memories. SkinsNumberOne Posted October 22, 2003 Author Share Posted October 22, 2003 Sorry, but I needed to let that go so I could feel better, heh heh... on the bright side, in this one case, while painful maybe it helps to remember that even a stellar 8 game start can end poorly when faced with stiffer competition. The Cowboys have a great 6 game start. They'll be facing a good test this week. I don't think Jon Gruden is going to start the game with an onside kick. Andy, Andy, Andy... what were you thinking...
