You say that, but I see plays like that all the time and the QB steps up or slides around in the pocket. It probably still would have been a sack, but he could have potentially stepped up behind the LT.

 

My problem with people blaming the offensive line is they'll pick out specific plays like this with a player getting blown up. That happens. The issues happen with a body of work though. The offensive line knows that Griffin drops back and doesn't step up, or that he'll flush himself out of the pocket at the top of his drop without any pressure. So how do you block for taking that into account? I'd imagine it's incredibly difficult playing as a lineman in front of RG3 because you never know where he'll be.

 

That's why our offense looked so much better with an actual pocket passer in Cousins and McCoy. The line knew what they were going to do.
