moondog Posted August 13, 2012 Share Posted August 13, 2012 As far as camp goes, Merriweather hasn't been great and hasn't been terrible. I personally think he stood out more Week 1 than he did this last week, but he's been okay. The reason he's on the list this week though is the defense has had trouble with creating turnovers for a long, long time now and if a ball hits you square in the hands in the early stages of a game (when you can seize momentum and really dictate how a game is going to play out) you've gotta make the easy play. Appreciate the info murf. And you are right, for some reason our defensive backs not named Hall have had a difficult time reeling in even the easy ones for quite some time now. Even Hall had multiple drops last year. That was a bittersweet play because Merriweather played it perfectly only to drop the pick. We are definitely going to need those kinds of turnovers if we're going to be successful this year...gonna need to catch the easy interceptions and have a few forced fumbles bounce our way. ---------- Post added August-13th-2012 at 04:47 PM ---------- IIRC, there has been a lot of gushing about Baker during TC as a whole.
