I know how far and wide the ES community network spreads, so I figured this was as good of a place as any to reach out to the DC/MD/VA area. I don't know much about the situation yet because I'm still in Australia, but I still want to help reach out to as many people as possible.

Here's a link to a news story from the Virginia Beach area: http://www.fox43tv.com/dpps/news/local/va_beach/missing-english-teacher-may-be-in-vb_3858996

And here's some background information on the situation: http://vienna.patch.com/articles/sources-say-duesterhaus-teaching-contract-not-renewed-could-have-led-to-disappearance

From the Facebook group created for him:

"A former Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School graduate and respected DJO English and Creative Writing teacher, Tom Duesterhaus, has been missing since last Friday. The DJO community has always been strong and must join together in the hope of finding Tom (fondly called "Mr. D" by his students). Please post any tips, thoughts, prayers, or whatever else you feel is appropriate.

From an article on Ballston-VirginiaSquarePatch--

A relative writes:

"To everyone who cares for Tom Duesterhaus, my family is looking for their son/brother and can use anyone's help. Tom has been missing since Friday afternoon. Some of his personal property has been found in a bag on Virginia Beach. A man we believe to be him was sighted taking a swim in the ocean by a woman in a nearby “beach house”. He was to have begun a four day retreat there on Monday. His car, car keys, and credit card still have not been located. We have no evidence of foul play or any criminal activity. With Tom’s love of his family and his community of Youth Apostles (YA) we have to believe he will eventually contact someone unless of course he is unable to do so. Meanwhile the police, his family, including the YA, love him and continue to search, and to look for more ways to locate Tom.” If you have information to help us find him please send it to Rich@duesterhaus.net or Father.Jack@marymount.edu or the Virginia Beach or Fairfax County Police departments."

If you know where Thomas Duesterhaus is or have any information about this case call the Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.

Thanks, everyone :)
