Actually, it depends on what category for CTI irt advancement for E6. In groups 3 and 4, no one was advanced at all. You can see the advancement quotas below and the link makes it easier to read. CTI(1) had great advancement with 100% to E5 and 79% to E6 which is typical due of the massive need for Arabic because of GWOT. Bad things about advancement like that is it can become a log jam, which is the way IS's are right now. Way undermanned 3 years back and everyone gets pushbuttoned to E4 out of A school and they had nearly 100% advancement to E6. Now overmanned, it is down to 27% at E6 and 1.7% to E5. All of that comes from the push from CNRC to the districts to get specific ratings.

Best of luck

CTI: group 1, Arabic; group 2 Persian/Farsi; group 3, Chinese; group 4, Korean; group 5, Spanish; group 6, Russian.

I have been in the Navy for 14 years I have one question....why are you going Enlisted if you already have a degree???

2.64 GPA, I'm not interested in being an Officer right now, and I could just apply for OCS later when some Navy experience under my belt.

Cool deal...well goodluck! Don't let anyone stop you from doing what you want to do. If you have any questions let me know! I love what I do!

The best officers are made that way. You know what you are putting your enlisted troops, airmen, sailors, or marines through, because you've walked in their shoes. Good on you Billy!

Actually some of the biggest jerks I have ever met in the officer corps were prior service. A lot seem to think they are gods gift to the military.
