HRNY4ZRNY
How about this strategy for Snyder and Cerrato Draft- BPA FA- Needs (no big names)
MumboSauce
Landry was a good pick, no real foul there...if we had more picks taking a shot on a BPA like Peterson would have been nice.
Spartacus87
I dont think hes a bust, and I side wih you...but he hasnt been worth 10th overall and some in the media are calling him a bust. Who's been calling him a bust?
[[ghost]]
Still think Okoye will be legit in this league. He's younger than college players and is getting amazing experience. And his body has taken the toll of a 26 year old. It won't matter that he's a couple years younger. He'll just retire a couple years earlier. mcarey032
With Portis being best buddies with Snyder, do you think that he was going to do that? No way. Also after the Archuletta debacle they thought we needed to draft a safety because that 2006 year we were getting bombed on deep and Taylor was trying to do way too much. Not saying we didn't need defensive lineman help, but we also needed some secondary help as we were giving up so many long conversions. Not too dissimilar to what we are doing currently on defense. Spartacus87
Google it. There are some sports writers that follow Texas that dont like him and his contributions Well, I looked it up, and found some writers on his case because he didn't get many sacks in 2008 and struggled playing against the run. Seems like some folks also take the stance that if he was so young coming out into the draft and would require longer to develop than other players as a result, maybe he's not worth being a top 10 pick.I think that's pretty short sighted though, and so do some other writers it looks like. He's the youngest player ever taken in the draft, and he's coming out as a DT, a position that requires some physical maturity before a guy can really excel at it. His physical peak isn't going to be for another few years still, but in the mean time he's been a very solid pass rushing DT. And he was injured for most of last year, which really impacted his effectiveness. Already this year, through 5 games, he's pretty much matched what he did in 14 games last season, so it would appear that he trends towards being a pretty good up-and-coming DT, at only 22 years old.
