Art
Anyone think the Vikings would answer the phone if we offered George, Davis and Barber for Culpepper and their No. 1 . Hey, you'd answer their running back issue, you'd give them a QB who knows their offense and can win with those receivers and a solid backer to fill in back there. Just to change pace. I don't think this will happen .
Skins57
Where is Hershel Walker when you need a good trade with Minnesota.
RySkins
I'd be willing to trade them George, Davis, Barber, Alexander, Westbrook, Shade, Barker, and Lockett for their #1.
DC_Clone
How about Schottenheimer, Raye and George for a sack of buffalo testicles? ------------------ [ by DC_Clone on September 25, 2001.]
Keifer
What do we do about the QB position, realistically? There isn't much coming out of college, next year.
Art
Read the Mort quote thread Keifer. There really isn't much happening at QB this offseason. Unless we are picking in the middle of the pack, we won't probably go with a QB in the draft and if we are picking in the middle of the pack, we'll probably just stick with who we have and go from there. It's a terrible Catch 22 . ------------------ Doom is in the box.
Keifer
I just read that thread. If that's all that is available, it is a catch-22. I wouldn't stand pat, though. I'd take a chance on Plummer, if he's available. Just my opinion, but that guy is gonna make it all come together with some team. He has it all, including the intangibles. For whatever reason, it hasn't clicked for him yet. [ by Keifer on September 25, 2001.]
Art
To be honest, if Plummer were to come free, he'd absolutely be the best fit for us, though, again, he already runs the WCO and has failed, so, all things positive have a bit of negative too . I won't be surprised to see Banks getting playing time soon. At his age, physical skills and solid mobility, Marty would be a fool not to see if he could be the late-bloomer type that is out there for a lot of teams now. We do KNOW George isn't coming back at his salary. Say a prayer that Banks has an epiphany, because having that happen would make us competitive quick. If we have to build through a young QB, we'll have a couple of years to be sad. ------------------ Doom is in the box.
NavyDave
he good thing is that Alexander is going to be cheap to sign if he keeps performing he way he is right now unless we look at flemister. I say scrap the offense plan as it currently is and go for a deep passing game with quick hitters for S Davis. ------------------ Take a sip of the Marty KoolAid and Believe
