Isifhan
I wonder if it's similar to the whole joint US and Colombia "Find and Kill Pablo Escobar Operation" back in early 90's.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pablo_escobar They used radio triangulation to finally tracking him down in the end. I imagine surveillance technology and techniques have to be much better then those used in 1993. Couple that with local vigilante groups who are brutal and ruthless and can get intel easily from the populace and bam. No more terrorists. Just speculating. I do think that the hunt for Pablo is the best example of the kind of operation we're talking about here though. If you haven't read "Killing Pablo" I would highly recommend it. Fantastic book on this.
sleazye
That's a big assumption. I suspect that this "leak" was planned at the top. Talk about a big assumption... Anyways I saw the interview with King and Woodward didn't say anything that would comprimise any information. He basically said "we have some incredible tactics and we're slaughtering them. I won't tell you what they are but dammit, they're working. He went out of his way to say that he was told specifically not to write/speak about any details of the operation, and he hasn't. No big deal here. Panties- unbunch them.
