RiggoRanger
"Well, give us time and the necessary means and we will produce any weapon they want and then we will invite them to come and destroy them." tex
We will soon see how willing he is to use WMD. Hopefully his troops decide not to use them on our fighters if Saddam gives the order to fire away with everything they've got.
Tarhog
I can guarantee you every Iraqi soldier within range has received leaflets from the air telling them that if they engage, they will die, and if they engage with chemical or bio weapons, they die even quicker. Some will fight, most won't. They didn't want a piece of what we had for them in 1991 (and that was before they were really sure what we could do). Now they know what is waiting for them. Most will drop their weapons and walk to us when the balloon goes up. I do believe the hard core will use nerve agents on us. And when we finally do get to Hussein, we'll have to do some tough fighting with the elite units of the Republican Guard.
codeorama
I agree that there will probably be a lot of "regular" troops surrendering right away.. the hard part will be capturing or confirming the death of Saddam.
