PosseLover
I have been looking at all of the FAs this year at http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?y=2008 and have created my wish list. We're suppose to be bringing in Will Demps so, I added him first...the other guys look to me like they could be good players and add much needed depth in key positions imo. IF this ended up happening for us this offseason, I would be very pleased because we could have a great draft this year. My only problem is, I don't know what it would cost us though...tell me how yall feel. FS Will Demps UFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Demps LB Brendon Ayanbadejo UFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendon_Ayanbadejo CB Andre Dyson UFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Dyson OG Seth McKinney UFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seth_McKinney OG Floyd Womack UFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Womack

kiingspadee
Hmm, Demps. Demps, Demps, Demps. Where in the hell do I know that name? Oh yeah:doh: he's that Safety that has a 4 team losing streak.
RemoveSnyder
The rest of the guys mentioned don't get me excited. I'd rather go with the draft at O.Guard & CB. Maybe go after a FA at WR. Maybe FA at DT.
PosseLover
I'm thinking of these guys as depth...not starters
Joe Sick
You people realize that it is possible to both draft AND sign a FA at the same position, right? It is not an either/or situation....

RemoveSnyder
sorry, McKinney doesn't really excite me. The 'Pork Chop' ...like I said maybe. _ I guess I'm thinking if we are going to get a guy, especially if we are talking about the offensive line, then it better be the replacement for Samuels or Thomas or Rabach or especially Kendall in 2 years or 4 / 5 / 6 ... or whenever years. (Notice I didn't say Jansen, I think we have him in Heyer). So getting a 29 or 30 year old FA O lineman (who by your standard is just here for depth) Check http://www.redskins.com/team/default.jsp?sortBy=title for our depth at the oline currently. Assuming that our starting line goes: LT: Samuels / LG: Kendall / C: Rabach / RG: Thomas / RT: Jansen then depth wise we have: -75 DeMulling, Rick -69 Fabini, Jason -62 Pucillo, Mike -63 Washington, Tavares -71 Wade, Todd -68 Tucker, Ross -78 Sampson, Kevin -74 Heyer, Stephon -(not to mention) 79 Alexander, Lorenzo Now I will be the first to say that I DON'T know each player's current contract(meaning that someone may be an unrestricted Free agent right now OR someone may have just 1 year left on their contract), nor likewise do I know whether any of these guys or all of them will make it to final cuts...but if all you want is depth, not to get an immediate starter...then the answer is, we have 'depth.' No need to add more FA depth, unless you want that FA (whoever it is) to start. and here is a thread that highlights some 'depth' guys added to the roster even at LB: http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4797189#post4797189 The idea of adding depth to the oline through FA does not work if you think your current oline can last maybe 4 or 5 more years. You add depth through the draft, you add a starter through FA. BUT at least the left Guard position seemingly will be up for fighting in a year or so. Also, taking a page from Vinny's book...or should I say, what Vinny has been saying in most of his interviews, is that the Offensive Tackle position is deep in this years draft. The O Guard ain't bad either. It's time to get young on the oline. Meaning, in this draft, try to get Samuels' replacement and/or Kendall's replacement....and groom... **:2cents:
