If he doesn't produce a better team record than last year Danny will fire him with his quick trigger finger. This does 2 things! 1) Buys us one the one year Cowher wanted out of coaching... and 2) That takes the Defensive Coordinator away from an NFC EAST team! hmmmmm... You dont hire someone and wait 4 weeks just to hire a 1 yr stop gap. Fassel is a stop gap. In case the next coach is unsuccessful, then, the coaching staff Cowher wants is already in place and he fires the coach and signs Cowher to a $50 million dollar contract.
