Kiwi, I know you'll get great pleasure in GB questioning their CB's.

Packers Worried About Age Of CB's Woodson And Harris?

Before next season ends, the Green Bay Packers' two starting cornerbacks, Al Harris and Charles Woodson, will turn 34 and 32 years old, respectively. It would seem almost a given that general manager Ted Thompson would use this off-season to prepare for their inevitable decline. Cornerbacks coach Lionel Washington, who played in the National Football League for 15 seasons, said there would be a time when age will catch up to them. "You don't know exactly what's going to happen over time, but you hope that with hard work and smarts and their understanding of the game, they're going to be productive to you," Washington said. "Those guys are going to come back in great condition. They'll have their own program to work on and I think they both do a good job with that." In the meantime, Washington said, he's very high on the young trio of Tramon Williams, Will Blackmon and Jarrett Bush and expects them to make considerable strides in the off-season.

Harris is a top corner but he has HORRIBLE ball skills and i mean horrible. Just about every pass Plaxico caught Harris was right on him but due to Plax height and Al's bad ball skills he wasnt really able to make a play. Not to mention Al isnt the most agile corner in the league so the snow already put him at a disadvantage compared to Woodson who didnt give up a catch to Plax the times he was on him. Harris just had a bad game but other than the game against TO(where he was taken away from his strengths due to Garrett's good game planning) and this game against Plax, Harris was solid all year and has been consistently but he never has had good ball skills and it showed against Plax. He shut him down in the 1st game this season.

Burress did the same things to Anthony Henry and Sheldon Brown this season. The truth of the matter is corners have a devil of a time trying to time their jumps and maintain balance running down a 6'5 redwood that is able to maneuver for position.

Anyone remember Harold Carmichael with the Eagles back in the 1970's? :)

The way to limit the effectiveness of these tall and physical receivers is to apply pressure right up the middle and prevent Manning and the other qbs from being able to set up and step into their throws.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys and Packers, they didn't get much pressure on Manning in crunch time, meanwhile the Giants front seven came on just when it was needed most against Romo sits to pee and Brett Favre.

After having a big game the week before, Bigby had a terrible game, a Roy Williams game.

Plax is extremely hard to cover. Al Harris definately had a bad day and then coupled with the fact that Plax is a beast, and also had a good day and then Harris really had zero help, it's no surprise Harris was totally owned.
