However, I wonder if another 2 or 3 weeks would have done it and he could have played at Seattle. If healthy I think he would have been so much better than Fabini and might have made the difference. ThePreciating Posted January 17, 2008 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I don't think so - when Randy came back, it was so painfully obvious that he wasn't ready. You don't risk injury to a player who is a cog of your offense line. Also, it's unfair to put a quarterback in a situation where one of his protectors cannot play up to his ability. He tried to come back and it got aggrevated pretty quickly, so it was justified that they wanted to be cautious. I would imagine they wanted to go into the playoffs with a roster of people that they knew could play if needed and not have roster spots filled with players who likely couldn't play.
