SKINS FAN #56
What happens if JC goes down in the opener and then Todd goes down in the 2nd game? Would you really want to see Palmer start for us from week 3 and on?Is that likely? No, but can it happen, yes! That is why you worry about every position and put the best players at each position, so in case the unthinkable happens, you are covered. Oldfan
The Patriots, the Chargers, the Bears, the Colts, the Ravens... these teams might have good reason to keep two veteran backups because they have the talent to win with them if necessary. The Skins are a different story. The Redskins are going nowhere unless Jason Campbell lights it up in the NFL and leads the way. We need the roster spot for a young player since we have an aged roster and we're off a 5-11 season. Keep Palmer and trade Brunell for whatever we can get if anyone wants him. Or put Palmer on the practice squad and use Randle El as an emergency #3.

If JC goes down our season is over, you guys need to get that threw your head. There is no one behind JC thats going to make a playoff run with this team. So who really cares who our 3rd string starter is.
Geoff_K
If that's the case, why not go with a youngster to develop, as you can sign a 72 year old QB at any time when injury strikes. agreed, get a young guy who has potential to improve over an old guy who can only get worse. If we end up having to goto our 3rd string QB we are sunk even if it is Brunell, so let's get a young guy in there and hope he develops.
hoosandskinsMUSTwin
Randle-El is our emergency quarterback. Big Ten offensive player of the year at that position.
