fuji869
As the tributes continue for #28 and his final game as a Redskin. What do you think is the most memorable Darrell Green Play. Is it: 1) 1983 Monday Night Football vs. Dallas Cowboys: Running down Tony Dorset. 2) 1986 NFC Wild Card Game vs. Los Angeles Rams: Running down future Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson who was headed for a TD. 3) 1987 NFC Championship vs. Minnesota Vikings: Breaking up a Wade Wilson to Darrin Nelson Pass at the end of the game to send the Redskins to Super Bowl XXII. 4) 1987 NFC Divisional Playoffs @ Chicago Bears: 52 yd punt return for a TD. 5) I had to add this play from the Rams Game this Season because it personified Darrell and him giving it all for the team. 2002 vs. St. Louis Rams: Darrell making a play and knocking the ball and a possible game winning TD away from Torry Holt. Darrell Knocked himself out of the game and for a brief moment some of us Redskin Fans thought that was it for Ole Darrell Green
Uptown Skins
Gotta be the punt return in 87. That play is probably the second best in Team history(behind the Riggo run in SB XVII).

Yomar
the entire 87 playoffs really, but when he broke up that pass at the end of the NFC Championship game against the Vikes, that was clutch
tulaneqb7
play that stands out in my mind is when made a diving interception real close to the other teams end zone on the first play of overtime in a game against the lions and returned it for a touchdown. i think it was in like 93 or 94, it had no real implication on the season, but it was freakin awesome. NorEastNCFan
All of those listed are great, but the one that stands out to me the most is the 2000 game against Tampa Bay. It's also the only game that I've been able to attend in person. #28 got his int. to keep the streak alive.

@DCGoldPants
when he signed my poster and wrote "To AEE- One of the few cats who really gets it. Darrell Green #28 Redskins for life!"
Henry
Those are all good. Here are some more. In 1996 he ran down Curtis Martin down in similar fashion. That was the year the Pats went to the SB under Parcells. Then there was the Cowboy game, 1995 I think, when Irvin said he was going after Darrell who was playing with a broken arm in a cast. Of course after one catch Darrell stuck that cast right there and forced a fumble. So sweet. There was the Rams game in 2000, when Darrell was supposedly suffering from a season ending hamstring injury, but lpayed and absolutely dominated Hakim. The Rams went after Green all day, much to their dismay. That game against the Lions was also in 96. A game-winning INT return for a TD in overtime. But apparently Darrell isn't a game-changer. One of my favorite memories isn't even a Darrell highlight technically. It was in 1999 when Wilkinsen recovered a fumble against the Bears and rumbled 60 or 70 yards into the endzone for a TD. He was charging along at full speed and there was Darrell Green, half his size and practically jogging alongside to escort him down the field. It was hard to believe they played the same sport. bulldog
the punt return is the greatest play because of its significance to the Redskins season AND the athleticism Green showed in making it. the Darrin Nelson play got the team over the hump at a critical time, but if not for the punt return the week before it would have been the Bears and not the Redskins playing Minnesota that week
BlitzFiftySix
Somebody correct me if I am wrong but.... If I remember correctly D.G. returned a punt for a touchdown the first time he touched the ball in the NFL against the Falcons in a pre-season game. Does anyone remember this? Help me out. fuji869
I don't remember if he did. My father was stationed in Japan in 1983 so I was not able to see any pre-season games then. I can add one more to this list. Darrell's Victory Lap after his final game. He goes around the stadium and shakes hand and thanks the fans for their support. Kind of Cal Ripken Like!
