To residents/motorists in the DC area - cops stepping up speed traps, et al.

Just heard from a cop (who comes and checks on my business from time to time) that starting Monday May 14, until June 1st, the DC Metro PD is engaging in an intense 2-3 week period of speed traps & "click it or ticket" program. Anyone they see not wearing a seat belt gets a tciket on the spot - no warnings - and they will be tripling the amount of speed traps during this period.

I guess this is in response to the unusually high number of traffic fatalities lately.
