ESPN: Archuleta breaks silence

Admitting that you've taken the wrong turn is the first step. However, the Front Office has traveled on that road they thought would get them a championship, using veteran players, players who were mis-assessed. Determing talent is a committee effort, possibly? Obviously, the information fed to those who need to know is either being ignored, or incorrectly analyzed. Is this the coaches fault?

I sure hope they turn around quick enough and find the shortest way to success.

I have way WAY more ill-will towards Brandon Lloyd moreso than Arch....he wasn't used properly, and has been the scapegoat for a lot of the problems on defense....Why Gregg Williams isn't taking more heat for this, I don't know....but, someone should be fired or held accountable for brining in the most expensive safety in NFL history, who has a clean jersey after each game...totally unacceptable....watch him go to another team, become used in the way that he is the most effective, and have a good year....

Yeah, one has to wonder if Adam will fair so badly with his next team??

Doubtful. Looks like another Ryan Clark situation in the making. And then it will go like the Iraq war where all of a sudden people WILL admit it has been mismanaged after years of denial.

Agreed on the Lloyd point too. Adam has been a great player, so why is it on him that he is not suceeding here?? That's on coaching. Lloyd had not been a great player while Moss & Randle El are prospering. Thats pretty much on Lloyd.

Really, really bad points made here man. You talk about Archuletta probably not fairing badly with his next team, but that's exactly what Ryan Clark is doing (as much as I'd like him back here). He's not even starting on a team with one of the worst secondaries in the league. And why does everyone seem to be willing to give Archuletta a free pass as say he'll do fine somewhere else (something that his play has never indicated here) but then state that Lloyd is a bust and a cancer and won't get better, etc. That's pretty hypocritical, unless you want to state that Lloyd has had more opportunities (which is true, but it's not like our passing game's been real efficient this year). Finally, Moss and Randle El aren't really prospering in the pass game. Hell, Mos only has around 45 catches. The only ones prospering in the passing game are Cooley and Betts.

How can you say that Archuletta is a great player that has failed because of coaching but Lloyd has failed because he's a bad player?

I don't know why they seem so hellbent on cutting AA. They're out the second 5M of his bonus whether he stays or goes so the only $$$ amount they would lose by keeping him is his 595K 07 salary. For that small amount wouldn't it be worth keeping him and using him in packages that call for a player that does the things he does well and using him on special teams also? Plus at that small salary which is minimum for a 6 year player and only 1M in 08 he might have some trade value for perhaps the Rams or the Bears who might give up a 6th or 7th rd pick thinking he's a better fit for their system.
