He didn't really admit to anything. He apologized, tucked tail, and ran as soon as the report came out. He has been reported to have sent really salacious and obscene emails and IM's to minors working as Congressional Pages and has been doing so for many years. It was also reported that he went to their dorm drunk once to solicit them.

2. What claims have been made against him that are still not "facts".

All depends what you mean by facts. Many of the above have been verified by multiple sources, mostly republican, and people who would seem to have no advantage to his ouster.

3. Who knew what he had done and when did they know it?

This is harder. Hasserts office and at least six republican Congressmen have admitted to knowledge of some sort. They have known about this for years based on the he said/she said. There was at minimum some kind of good ole boys cover-up. I think it was more that than power mongering, though power mongering probably played some part too.

It's Matlock's fault. Matlock is in reality the Kingpin or Godfather.

Republicans want it to go away. Democrats want to capitalize on it. Both will pretend to want to do the right things for the right reasons.
