Then we had a blackout party and listened to a battery powered radio. The next day the company I worked for laid off almost everyone off so the party went into overtime for a few months. Power went down at work and we were sent home early when we were told by our local utility company that power would not be back up for the rest of the work day (moments later we learned the power outage effected a much larger area than just the town where I worked:)). I went home...and believe it or not...my dinky little town still had power while all surrounding towns were down. So I sat in my air conditioned home and watched the news for most of the night. I had more than a few co-workers who ran out of gas on roads/highways as all gas stations in the area were down that day...so they kept driving hoping to find one open Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
