Air Force Cane
From the article itself: "because so far the Army isn’t broken,” O’Hanlon said. Nice to see though that (once again) the traitorous media is publishing EVERY SINGLE POTENTIAL WEAKNESS of our national security forces for Al-Queda to read about. Thanos
Anyone who thinks the article is drivel has either:1) never served or been deployed or 2) never been in OEF/OIF. Gen Shinseki stated what troops levels were needed and guess what happened. Those who had "boots on the ground" would have told you this years ago.It ain't new. Air Force Cane
I really don't understand this. the article is titled "Army near breaking point" but the one source they are relying on IN THE SAME ARTICLE STATES "the Army is still a highly effective fighting force and is implementing a plan that will expand the number of combat brigades available for rotations to Iraq and Afghanistan." I know that there was a thread in the Stadium where it was questioned if Gibbs and company were giving out too many secrets to their game plan on Redskins.com. So it can be argued that too much gameplanning leaked on a team website can affect the outcome of a football game but when the potential weaknesses of the American military are written by the media, no no no...... it is no big deal. Right.........
Joe Sick
From the article itself:"because so far the Army isn’t broken,” O’Hanlon said. Nice to see though that (once again) the traitorous media is publishing EVERY SINGLE POTENTIAL WEAKNESS of our national security forces for Al-Queda to read about. Add another to the list of traitorous media... OH WAIT! This is the lead general in Iraq saying this? A FoxNews "story" versus the man leading our troops? I'll take the word of the man playing the game, instead of all the cheerleaders in the stands. The top U.S. general in Iraq on Thursday called Army forces "stretched" in the war on terror just a day after Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said they weren't."The forces are stretched," said Army Gen. George Casey, "and I don't think there's any question of that." Underlining the political sensitivity of the remarks, the military quickly put out a clarifying statement saying that Casey "was speaking about Army forces in general and not specifically about forces in Iraq." But Casey's briefing to reporters in Diwaniyah south of Baghdad contrasted with Rumsfeld's defense of his management of the war and efforts to streamline the military. Rumsfeld on Wednesday dismissed two studies - one commissioned by the Pentagon - that warned the military was overextended in Iraq and Afghanistan and could be unready to meet other threats in Korea and elsewhere. Of course, he had to retract this comment quickly with a qualifer. Can't have the Kool Aid drinkers getting mixed messages, right?
