Ignatius J.
It just occured to me. marty's making a lot of fus about how we're setting our sights on the super bowl. It wasn't quite a gaurantee, but it does faintly resemble fassell's promise. I wonder if that has lead marty to this commitment that we will compete for the trophy? I mean he saw what happened when NY did it? And everyone knows that Washington Wins the year after NY right? -DB
Terry
hmmmm.... I think that's a little too much Marty Koolaid for DB There's a difference between saying 'our GOAL is the Super Bowl and 'we're gonna be IN the Super Bowl'.
Thinking Skins
I sure hope he can do something to get these boys to play with some life. We'll see tonight though.
MarkPSkins
Marty was not predicting a Super Bowl trophy, he said his goal was the Super Bowl Trophy. Big Difference. Cleveland and Cincinnati's goal is the super bowl. everybody's goal is the Supoer Bowl. To set you goal any lower would be more disturbing to me. If Marty would have said, Our goal is to win 8 games, then I would have raised an eyebrow. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.texaspitts.com/RedskinsLogo.gif" border=0>
bulldog
right now, I will be satisfied if the Redskins score more than 6 points and don't make another team's quarterback look like Joe Montana. after hearing all preseason about how well the players were doing in camp, I would also like to see some good individual efforts from some of the team's better players, who should be seeing some more time tonight. The Browns are not a contending team, but I think the coach unlike Norv or Wannstedt in Chicago, is a guy with the ability to lead a team and make them play for him. How successful he will be in the NFL overall is of course still a question mark. But judging from his personality, I don't think you will see the disorganized, dispirited club that played the 2000 season. And if we can't stop the Browns running backs when playing with the first teamers, I think that is a sign the next acquisition will definitely be a DT.
