redman Posted September 5, 2005 Share Posted September 5, 2005 I have a question for the Iggles fans. The depth chart at QB for the Eagles is: McNabb, Detmer, McMahon. McNabb's irrelevant - no mystery there as to who's starting. My question has to do with who comes in if/when McNabb goes down to injury. My understanding is that Detmer is listed as the QB2 simply because he's the holder on kicks, and he therefore must be active every game; the "real" backup QB is McMahon, meaning that he's the guy under center if McNabb goes down. Isn't the third QB an emergency QB and there are rules about when and who you can put in if the emergency QB is put in before the fourth quarter. Unless I am mistaken. Detmer would finish that game, but then McMahon would step in for the long haul.
