I think Herz is ultimately a reliever too, but I like what I’ve seen from him so far. Sykora I am really excited about. I’m waiting for Lile and Lara to push their way into Top 100 lists

Having a guy who could come out of the bullpen and strikeout 13 guys in six innings would be a helluva weapon! 😎

  2. What a night for MacKenzie Gore. 7 innings. 10 strikeouts. 1 run. 1 dugout dust up.

Three hits and a walk for Abrams. Another game with an XBH.

On the farm, Susana had 2 runs in 5 innings with 7K.

Josiah Gray made a rehab start with Harrisburg. 1 run in 4.1IP. I’d imagine that he makes another rehab start or two before returning.

Chase Solesky, a guy they signed from the Independent League relieved Gray with 5 shut out innings. Impressive.

Yesterday, they added Eduardo Salazar, a pitcher to the 40 man roster. He’ll pitch for Rochester. Still an open slot there.

Since the beginning of May (8 starts), he's got a 0.9 for both ERA and WHIP.

They just promoted Andrew Alvarez from AA (2 games, 1 awful outing, 1 good one) so I get maybe not wanting to promote another so fast but come on...the AAA starting pitching looks pretty replaceable.

Herz is (probably) temporarily up in the majors. But what's Thad Ward going to do for us in his Age 27 season and pitching numbers like that? What's holding Brad Lord back from moving up given he's clearly better than his level of competition.

It’ll happen. Lord has only made 11 AA starts. Alvarez made 14 before his promotion.

They just signed a guy named Solesky from independent ball and Seth Shuman is progressing in his rehab. There’ll be some upward pressure to create spots in Harrisburg.

Guys at AAA have really been struggling: Rutledge, Ward, and Adon.

They have 38 rosters spots filled with Ferrer and Cavalli on the 60 day. I’d have to think Ward is number 37 or 38 in terms of safety. He’s probably not very comfortable right now.

5 straight is the longest win streak since 2021. With trash Marlins coming to town could be higher. And even if it isn't it seems they've righted the ship overall. Now just take Corbin out of the rotation and this team should be fine especially with easy opponents coming up

Corbin will come out of the rotation soon. But they are not going to rush Gray and Cavalli. Now they may send Herz back first, but when the other two are ready (which may be the All-Star break), Corbin will be out of the rotation.

Going into the season, I thought they should go big in FA for a starter. But with the emergence of Parker and Irvin and success of others in the minors such as Alvarez and Lord, I’d be hesitant to spend big there.

That's great! They've really cut down on the ads too so it's not as bad as ESPN, which spent 15 minutes showing ads instead of analyzing the game during hafltime. Good to see you are also fed up and watching on SpoTV too!

I think one of the big issues this final is that Boston got an easy path to the final and is pummeling Dallas. This series has not been competitive at all.

I will say I'm amazed a franchise as famed as Boston has only won one title since 1986. Not very Bostonny.

Similar to your beloved Yankees who have only one championship in close to a quarter century.

Herz reminds me of Andrew Miller from the Red Sox, Orioles, Indians, and Yankees. You give him every opportunity to earn a rotation spot, but could be an absolute weapon in the bullpen.

As difficult and expensive as it is to find starting pitching. I’m all for giving these guys as much rope as possible.

The industry thought Irvin was destined to be a BP arm, but he’s proven to be quite the find.

I still think they should make Adon a full time reliever.

I’d be really surprised if that is not the plan going into 2025. He has no options next season and I don’t see him higher than SP7 - even if they don’t add anyone in the offseason.

Also, I think they should give a lot of consideration in turning Rutledge into a back of the bullpen guy in 2025 if they go into Spring Training with the rest of the starters healthy.

The internal pitching prospects look so much better now than a year ago.

They have six guys that are pre-arb: Irvin, Gore, Parker, Cavalli, Gray, Herz.

Then they have three kids that are showing a lot of promise with Lara, Sykora, and Susana.

Bennett will be back next season.

They could still make a splash in FA, but they don’t need to be desperate.

The stuff that tends to “work” on the general public usually hurts my brain

I find it super unfortunate most people cannot sit through a 30 minute high-level discussion on a topic, pay attention, and come out the other side feeling more informed

instead they tend to think they’re being lectured, that they don’t like the other person (cause that’s how they cope with not understanding it), or they just don’t pay attention and didn’t learn anything

Politician do what works. Gish galloping around hitting 50 topics in 5 minutes but none more than a sentence or two deep, and things that fit on bumper stickers work.

elizabeth warren doing a 20 minute interview on economic and banking policy and how and why things are good or bad ideas, only results in people hating Elizabeth Warren.

    Ted Rack is America.

Skipping Corbin today I hope is a sign of his ending days in the rotation. We have younger, more promising arms that need the innings.

Weems is another one I have no idea why he’s getting innings. He’s never been particularly good, he’s 31. Time to cut bait. There are younger arms in AAA Id rather see than him.

Yeah, he won’t pitch until Saturday. Gray will make another rehab start over the weekend. Not sure what happens with Corbin. But I’d be comfortable taking the under on 2.5 more starts.

If they don’t go outside the organization, I could see Medina or La Sorsa up soon. Weems is done. Rainey is never used. You can’t go forward with only 6 BP arms.

Brzyczy is making appearances, but he’s not ready. Cronin could be someone who moves up quickly. Ferrer is getting close to rehab appearances. Ribalta needs to prove more in AAA, imo, to jump ahead of the others.

Sinclair and Grissom Jr are two arms in AA that could get a look.

Weems needs to be gone. Take Rainey with him. Get me two arms from Rochester. The two best relievers they have. Gimme.

Aldonis Medina (RHP) and Joe La Sorsa are probably the best bets from Rochester at the moment. However Logan Allen got DFA’d by Arizona. You look at his top line numbers, and the poor ERA looks ugly. But he’s coming off a 6 run inning that jacked up his numbers. He’s a lefty who can go multiple innings which is helpful when you are giving starts to Gore and Herz. There are two spots open now on the 40, then the additional two when you remove Weems and Rainey.  I would do Allen and Medina. The La Sorsa if Allen gets claimed. But Davey has to pitch these guys.
