  1. Rivera was pretty subpar but nobody, absent Joe Gibbs, was ever gonna be successful under Dan Snyder. The man was a true loser and it permeated everything he touched. Except Gibbs because Snyder considered him a God. Which he was. He was a God.
  2. If it's him, it probably makes Dallas weaker and he'll know how to beat the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giant offenses. That's a huge plus. Pair him up with a hot OC, could be a great fit.
  3. 5 firsts? Is that even possible? Yes you take that, you'd be setting up the team for success for 20 years.
  4. Yes he has thick legs but visually, I always thought he was small and would get bounced around like a pinball, which is what has happened and what will continue to happen. He's a very, very good, exciting player and I loved watching him and Miami have success this year, but I don't think he's durable enough to take you the whole way and I don't think he'll have a long career. I wouldn't want to be married to him is my point. He could prove me wrong, not totally counting him out but just a feeling. I like to use Russel Wilson as an example of durability because when he came out I wasn't sure he'd be a star, but I did think he would be durable. Wilson is as thick as a tree trunk but visually to me he looks miles above Tua's durability. This is why I would do my due diligence on Daniels regarding durability. Forbes is another good example of just last year. When I looked at his body and saw his weight, I thought this guy is gonna have a rough time physically in the NFL. Very talented but much too frail. Surprised the coaches who make millions to do this stuff couldn't deduce this.
  5. I think it can be measured to a degree just by looking at a player visually. For example, if you put RG3 and Russel Wilson in a line up and asked which player is more durable, there would be no question it's Wilson in my mind. Some guys just have more flexible muscles and bones and are just stouter. Some guys always get hurt, others never or very rarely. I think the key is that you want stout guys for all the dirty work and then for your more light and skinny skill players, you want to do all you can to make sure they don't sustain maximum impacts. I think durability is huge. Like I would not want Tua at all, I hate to say it but he is not going to have a long career no matter what he does.
  6. Very true. Didn't he refuse to sit in that Seattle playoff game that completely obliterated his already destroyed knee? The one Cousins came in and threw a TD pass?
  7. I know from experience working as a bellman at one of the best hotels in Los Angeles that these players, coaches, and announcers are not just checking in and getting a good's nice sleep. A certain basketball team that stayed with us multiple times (rhymes with 46'ers) would have a giant herd of "female fans" pile into the lobby the minute they checked in. So Gruden sharing a smoke with a pretty girl isn't that big of a deal. Off topic, Howie Long is a terrible tipper ($1 a bag) and Chris Collinsworth is a super generous tipper (always a $20 spot). Bradshaw they rented a house for, so not sure about him.
  8. It's Tyler Spiers, and no I am not a troll. I've been a fan since watching the Skins win the 82 Super Bowl sitting on my grandfather Jimmy Roach's lap in the deep South of Richmond, Virginia. He was not only a WW2 vet, but he went back to fight in the Korean War losing both his eye and three of his fingers. His greatest pleasure was watching the Skinny Mammas. His second greatest pleasure was taking out his glass eye and putting it inside his mouth and growling at me like Marlon Brando in the Godfather. So yeah, pretty much a super fan.
  9. Broseph, he's 35 with no major injuries, I think he's got a few good years left and could bridge us until we found our new QB. I'm not saying do this, I'm just saying it's an option if the new GM/Coach don't feel confident in Maye's potential as a franchise QB or feel Daniels will get crushed with his frail body. We don't wanna have another RG3 fools gold situation.
  10. Stinks? He won a Super Bowl and was one bad play from another Super Bowl win. Have a little respect. And Sean Payton isn't some God, he got lucky with an onsides kick in his only Super Bowl win and has been riding that to the bank for years.
  11. You're exactly correct on Fields, I would want no part of him. But Russel Wilson is not a crap QB option, he just needs to be put in a good situation. I guarantee he'll have a Baker Mayfield resurgence with a new team at some point. Russel Wilson paired with Terry and MHJ to me sounds pretty sweet, especially behind a stout OL and reborn smash mouth running attack. And who knows if Maye can be a star or if Daniels can make it through a season with his RG3 body and playing type? They're both talented but they don't scream franchise QB to me.
  12. If you were going to pick MHJ, who is a surefire star and would solidify our receiving core for a decade, you would need to sign Russel Wilson to be the starter and then draft your future QB in the 2nd round or next year. In that scenario, you could possibly trade back to 3 with the Pats and get an extra second and first next year. This is of course if the new GM and coach don't feel confident that either Maye or Daniels can be the future. I would actually be happy with this especially if we rebuilt a powerhouse OL through the draft and free agency.
  13. I guess all whites are cool once or twice a season but we look so sharp when we are two-tone that it just doesn't make sense to me to wear those. I don't know if I'm a fashion police type of person or not but I always get a little disappointed when they are in all white, all red, and go into a full on depression if they are in the terrible blacks. And they always seem to lose in the one-tone uniforms. I don't know if it's a psychological thing or what but it just seems that way. I feel like we win the most in the white tops / burgundy pants and that's what looks the best by far. For the RG3 / Cousins years, I hated those yellow pants as well. Yuck. It visually ruins the experience for me if they don't look like the Gibbs uniforms. Can we just name the team the Washington Gibbs like the Browns did? I love that man.
  14. Yes, yes, yes! I think we should go back to the 91' uniforms (updated for modern), which was our greatest season and the time we looked the best. I would go back to the original uniform and wear the white tops with burgundy pants at home and burgundy tops and white pants away. Never want to see the yellow pants ever again. I would also never allow them to wear all white or all burgundy. I hate those, they always lose and somehow look weaker. Like we're the Colts. And go back to the striped socks, those were sharp. I would also keep the same logo circle that we had for the Redskins and just pop a W in there and lose the feather. I would make the W a dark burgundy that pops on the white. For alternate, it should represent the new name, whether it be Ballers, Generals, Redwolves or whatever the hell they go with. But please for the love of God, lose the Commanders name. Every time I hear that name I imagine Dan Snyder coming up with it, chuckling with his wife and thinking he's a genius.
  15. Draft Daniels, re-sign Brissett to start until the new O-Line and Daniels are ready. Keep Howell as QB# 3 and then possibly trade him if a team is desperate next year. Maybe the Patriots would trade with us to nab Maye. Does it work that way? Could we trade to Patriots, they get Maye, then we get Daniels? Or would we risk losing Daniels to Patriots if we trade back. Not sure on that process.
  16. I have been all in for Howell the whole season but the offense looked like a real NFL offense once Howell was out. And Terry almost doubled his yearly touchdown total so that can't be ignored. Brissett looked like he used the pocket better and it looked like he was more respected by the defense. Maybe the jailbreak offensive line all season was because of the lack of respect for Howell to make quick decisions. Again, it was basically garbage time but it still looked good. As of now, I would draft a top QB and keep both Howell and Brissett. You're looking at an awesome QB room and you can trade Howell or Brissett if need be down the line.
  17. Locks onto targets - Doesn't look like it to me. Poor internal clock - Not seeing it although hard to judge with this OL. Struggles reading defenses - Possibly, which is why he throws all the pick 6's. Can this be fixed with experience? Accuracy issues - I think he's very accurate. Have only seen a handful of really off target throws. Poor pocket awareness - He rarely ever has a pocket but when he does, he stands in there and usually makes a big play. The beautiful Dotson TD for an example. Makes boneheaded mistakes (every qb has them, but not regularly) - Could be a problem if not fixed. Is this his Achilles' Heel or is it because he's young and has zero time? This will be what makes his career if he can overcome it. Lacks arm talent - The best arm talent Washington has had in years. Attitude/work ethic issues - Zero issues here and don't think there ever will be. In fact, if the rest of the team had his current attitude, we'd be in the playoff hunt.
  18. In that case, I would build Howell the best OL money and draft picks can buy, upgrade TE group, add a stud big WR to pair with Terry and roll with Howell. Howell feels like a Hog type player. Thick, tough, scrappy, good improviser, always trying to win. I love those type of guys, those are the type of guys who can help you win consistently throughout the years.
  19. If you drafted Daniels and traded Howell, what could you realistically get for Howell? A first that we can use on OL? Or would you just have Daniels and Howell compete? Love Howell to death, I think he'll be a star, but if Daniels is a Lamar Jackson type talent, I would be good with that. The question is, Is Daniels that type of talent? And can he survive behind a rebuilding Offensive Line?
  20. He can come back from it no problem, I think he's much tougher physically than David Carr so as long as he doesn't get a major injury, I think he'll be ready go next year for the new everything that he's going to get in a GM, coach, and added playmakers and protection. Getting another rookie will just exacerbate the no-protection, lack of supporting cast problem because you've spent your high draft pick on a QB. That QB would have to be a can't miss Lamar Jackson once in a lifetime guy if you were going to go that route. Other than that, Sam is the guy.
  21. Completely wrong. He's a future star and the best player currently on the team. If Washington lets him walk or trades him, it will be one of the worst mistakes they ever make. They should concentrate totally on the offensive side this year and build the team around Sam Howell. And I think that is what they will do.
  22. Big uniform nerd here as well. Love the first helmet with the 3 Star and white stripes. Simple and cool. If they were gonna go with Generals, that would fit perfect. I say go to an updated, sexier version of the old uniforms with new helmet logo. Do not change the colors AT ALL, try to look like the Gibbs uniforms of the 80's but a current update. As far as the current Commanders uniforms, helmet is OK, it looks awesome when they wear the white shirt, red pants, and red helmet. Reminds me of the old Redskins the most. But they never wear those ones, which pisses me off. I hate the all-blacks, the all-whites and the all-reds, they look like pajamas. Red shirt with white pants is OK although I hate the Commanders logo on the red shirts. So uncool. That name is just so "Snyder dancing in the owner's box" uncool.
  23. Howell had a bad game and some really bad interceptions but I think he can fix this when he gets a better offensive line / learns not to try to do everything. What I did like about the game is that despite 6 turnovers, Howell still tried to get the win. Last interception was bad and he shouldn't of thrown it but I think he was just trying to win. Still really happy with Howell and still think he'll be a star.
