  1. There were going to waive him. But he got hurt, so they had to make the designation. Let's everyone know that he has some kind of injury. He goes through the same waiver process. No one claims him, he reverts back to the team, who either keep him until his is healthy and then cut him or they work out a settlement. Usually however many weeks the injury is likely to heal, they pay him that many game checks. Say it's a twisted ankle takes three weeks. He would most likely get three game checks and be released now and then can sign with anyone once he is healthy. Because he is hurt, the team has responsibilities, you can't cut a guy when he is hurt without working out an injury settlement. That is why he is on IR. It is NFL rules. If they put him on IR prior to the season, he is there all year, if they cut him and then he isn't claimed, he reverts back to the team and they put him on IR until he is healthy again then they can cut him.
  2. Falcons practice squad S Dwayne Johnson I didn't even know the Rock was in the NFL. I thought he was just trying to run the XFL. Man that guy can do anything!
  3. okay who is bored tonight? Let's play a game. Name a guy who was cut today who you would claim, and what corresponding move would you make on the WFT to go with it. IE, I saw the Dolphins did cut Bendardick McKinney and I would get him and maybe cut John Bates and sign him to the PS. Or you have to risk losing him forever, and I would be okay with that.
  4. First Joe Walker, now Isaiah Wright, what ever will we do?
  5. I have seen reports that we are interested in him for months now. But this was like "imminent" but no one else is reporting it. We need a guy like this our LB's are young and dumb.
  6. Any truth to the rumor that we are looking at KJ Wright? Someone posted a youtube video with cutups of Wright and it says Washington reportedly to sign him immediately.
  7. Don't get your hopes up. Doubtful it is to buy the Washington Football Team. "By way of comparison, Bezos sold $2.8 billion worth of shares in 2019. Bezos has previously said he’s selling about $1 billion of Amazon stock a year to fund his space exploration company, Blue Origin." https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/05/bezos-sells-more-than-3-billion-in-amazon-shares.html
  8. Michael Jenkins was just laid off by NBC Sports. Hmmm. Doesn't he know a certain woman who just got a high ranking media job with a local football team who shall remain nameless? Would love to see him anchor some pre/post games shows, have segments on Washington Football Team Daily, or Training Camp Daily. It would be so sweet if he got laid of by NBC Sports, but then got hired by WFT, and then had to come back and do TV Shows on NBC Sports. Comeuppance.
  9. They said that they just need to be in town to take a physical that they expect everyone to be signed before camp. I think Chase Young, Antonio Gandy-Golden, Saahdiq Charles, and Keith Ismael have officially signed. The rest most likely today. No holdouts expected.
  10. Looks like Chase Young has signed. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/07/23/chase-young-signs-his-rookie-deal/
  11. There are only two names that should be mentioned to be the play by play host. Frank Herzog, and Steve Buchantz. We need all the good ju ju we can get.
  12. Tombstone is quite quotable. I'm your huckleberry I'm in my prime Frederick F'n Chopin He reminds me of me, now I really hate him I am sorry Johnny, I forgot you were there, you may go now Are we cross? Your no daisy I not yet begun to defile myself My hypocrisy knows no bounds I'm dying how are you I have two guns, one for each of you We started a game, we never got to finish And many more
  13. Yeah, it is really narcissistic to tweet out I know before you, nany nany boo boo. Either say it or don't.
  14. Just read his bio. He has a resume. Was area scout for Seattle from 2000-2001, moved to the Pro Personnel Dept in Seattle from 2002-2004, was back out on the road as a scout in 2005-20011 with Seattle also. When he left he was the Asst Director of College Scouting. Buccaneers hire him as Director of College Scouting 2012-2014. Was Assistant GM with the Dolphins in 2014-2015. Joined the Panthers as a scout in 2016. Won the Fitz Pollard Most Outstanding Scout Award in 2018, was promoted to Regional Dir of College Scouting 2018 and Director of College Scouting in 2019. Just about everywhere he has gone, he has worked his way up. He is young, only 46 to have 20 years experience, and a lot of it at the Director Level at multiple teams. So he is not just a whim hire. Sounds like Rivera found out he was canned, and wanted him, and they had to create somewhere. They already committed to Kyle Smith. So they got rid of Santos and Mann to get Stokes, and he brings Warren.
  15. Did everyone see that the Redskins fired Alex Santos Director of Pro Personnel, and Richard Mann Assistant Director of Pro Personnel, and hired Don Warren as the Assistant Director of Pro Personnel? While the first reaction is this is a legacy hire, but he actually worked for Ron Rivera as a scout for the Panthers for 10 years. So he is actually a Rivera Panthers hire, who just happens to be a Redskins Legend.
