Wow, if true that's interesting and very intriguing. I have a feeling that there might be a few more names that come from out of nowhere. While we've been debating on 2 or 3 coaching prospects we forget that there's actual adults running the organization now and for once doing their due diligence on this search.

And with all the back and forth about which QB we should draft, having this guy in the office makes me feel so much better regardless of who we pick. I've read and heard enough about this guy to 100% put my faith in his decisions and just let him do his thing.

Give me 15 year career and a super bowl victory every other 3 years. Other than that I agree with everything you said lol

It really does make the prospect of getting someone like Johnson in hear as head coach and pairing him up with Maye very exciting. I know Detroit has a ton of talent on offense but damn what he's done with that talent and with Goff is amazing

I didn't want to say it but there is something about him that reminds me a little bit of Allen. That's why he's shot up to QB1 on my wish list, the more i watch of him the more I like. So many skills and traits that compare to successful QBs in the league.

I know I asked this question a while back and it's been discussed and I just can't find it, but once again, which current NFL QB does Maye compare best to?? I'm seeing a little bit of Jordan Love maybe?? Maybe I'm way off

That's why I was rooting for the lions to lose in a high scoring game. Johnson still looks good even in a lose and we can hurry up and get him and get this coaching search over with. I know....... I'm very impatient lol

Totally understand what you're saying but none of those teams were drafting #2 overall so they were only in position to get the lower valued QBs.......obviously lower valued at the time of those drafts......Luckily it worked out for those teams, but they also had some decent rosters already in place. Sadly for us our roster is not ready to compete so we can't get cute, we need to get this year's QB1 or QB2

So a new fear unlocked here, but unless Dallas pulls a miracle comeback what are the chances they fire McCarthy?? And if so I have a legit fear of them going hard after someone like Johnson. That's a very attractive roster for any coach

I really hope we don't go this route. I don't hate the idea of Quinn, but like you said it feels like the safe hire. 8 to 9 wins a season safe. Like most everyone else here has stated we really need that offensive minded coach for our new QB........

Like the saying goes the truth hurts. Every bit of what you wrote is nothing but truth. Ron's roster building didn't do us any favors. Hopefully we can build this roster enough to see remarkable improvement in 24, then hopefully in 25 we can add the pieces to make a serious run.

So just a random thought and it might sound silly, but someone asked earlier if we hired Johnson or Slowik would they run the offense?? I'm not sure how I feel about someone as young as Johnson calling the offense on top of running the entire team. Obviously the guy is a offensive guru and more than capable of doing it, but how do you feel about bringing on a older OC like Reich to pair up with Johnson?? Do you think it would be too much of a clash of personalities? I know it would probably serve a new young head coach well to have a good balance of youth and experience on his staff.

That's what I was thinking last night. Yeah Stroud ended up being way better than many of us expected but the job Slowik has done creating a system for him and that offense has been amazing. Like you said though, can he manage the entire team and coaches is the big question

Where do see him going?? After Bowers I don't know of any TEs that stand out and that's a position we really need to upgrade
