This is on Merrick Garland 100%.  If he wasn't such a weak, ineffective AG, this investigation & trial would've happened much earlier and had been concluded by now.  By dragging his feet on this, Garland basically gave Trump a get out of jail free card on this case (which is the most serious of all his other trials and the easiest to prove as well).  IF Trump wins in November, Garland might go down as the worst AG of all time, and I don't think I'm exaggerating on that distinction.  By being so cowardly and meek, he essentially could be responsible for Trump netting a 2nd term and avoiding prison time all together.

And the irony will be that if Trump wins in November, Garland will wind up behind bars himself.

She got it partially right. Trump will be on the ballot, not many will actually vote for him. Write ins for Haley for one.

My worry is that a vote for Haley would be a wasted vote, since the winner takes all the electoral votes anyway. People who cannot stomach voting for Biden (whether they're far-right GOP and would never vote for a Dem, or people who don't like either candidate and stay home) and write in Haley's name won't keep Trump out of the Oval, I fear.

With these court cases disintegrating before our eyes I am losing hope.

NEW: Trump has now moved for a mistrial.

Todd Blanche: We move for a mistrial based on the testimony this morning, the guardrails were thrown aside, that testimony was so unduly prejudicial to Trump and the charges in this case and the testimony about the incident in 2006 is way different from the stories she was pedaling in 2016, the only reason this evidence …testimony about being blacked out, not wearing a condom, the spacing in the room, the power dynamic, all of this has nothing to do with this case and is extraordinarily prejudicial and the only reason they asked aside from embarrassment is to inflame the jury, there was testimony about a second alleged sexual advance sometime later, totally irrelevant to this case, she testified that there was communications with Trump afterwards and that something bad was going to happen, and she kept saying that she made sure to meet him in a public place and this was said repeatedly.

BLANCHE: “There’s no way to unring the bell in our view.”

Prosecutor: basically said that everything Daniels said establishes her credibility after having it attacked by the defense.

Judge: basically said while there were some things that might have been better left unsaid, they are nowhere near the point of calling for a mistrial and objections could have been raised along the way that weren't. Agrees to strike some statements by Daniels.

    Judge Merchan DENIED.

So, Trump can feel a rolled up magazine swatting him on the butt, is this through the diapers or was this pre diaper stage? It brings the question of whether or not Stormy had to deal with leakage while they were doing the horizontal mambo.

How can his MAGA followers continue to see him as a superman when he begged to be spanked by a stripper with a magazine that had his face on the cover?

  5. Funny how the media hasn't really reported on this NAR movement before...I knew evangelicals were illogically backing Trump, but this makes it look far more widespread than anyone ever thought...and confirms that the current evangelicals are basically adopting the same beliefs that the Confederate States of America had about America supposedly being created for white Christians only...and that violence is OK in furthering their goals.

    https://religionnews.com/2024/05/06/how-trumpism-has-pushed-a-fringe-charismatic-theology-into-the-mainstream/

How Trumpism has pushed a fringe charismatic theology into the mainstream

Charismatics who don’t identify as evangelicals also show majority support for the territorial spirits notion (59%), which only drops below a majority (to 34%) for nonevangelical, noncharismatics. In short, these NAR ideas and theologies have spread far beyond the explicitly charismatic circles in which they originated.

In other words, what not long ago seemed to be a marginal set of beliefs has become a dominant religious framework among American Christians. We’ve known for quite some time that charismatics and Pentecostals were the fastest-growing Christian group in the country, but no one has shown yet just how widespread NAR-linked beliefs are, or how far they extend beyond a charismatic/Pentecostal identification. From our evidence, it is no surprise that we are hearing much more talk from religious leaders about demons and spiritual warfare.

The fact that these NAR-affiliated Christians make up the core of Christian Trump support and the new base of the Republican Party also helps explain why many elected officials have taken a decidedly charismatic turn. It explains why a Southern Baptist in good standing like Mike Johnson would be linking arms with NAR apostles, why provocateur Roger Stone has claimed he too is the subject of prophecies and announced in 2022 that he had a vision of a demonic portal above Joe Biden’s White House. It explains why former Texas Gov. Rick Perry would propagate the notion of Trump being anointed by God

Trump is a habitual line stepper. Merchan should stop threatening and lock him up.

I fear this will just make Trump even more popular than he already is...his sycophants believe every word he says is the truth anyway, but now undecided folks are going to start to think Trump is getting shafted by the justice system. You should see the ridiculous chatter on Fox articles...that everything the judges do is illegal, Holder was found to be in contempt of Congress but was never penalized...it doesn't matter what the TRUTH is, these people BELIEVE their own truth and we are heading for more violence on Election Day.

Trump has already said if the election is fair he will abide by the results. Why didn't TIME ask him 'what are your standards for a fair election...when there were 11 investigations into the last election and they found little if any fraud.'

CNN and WAPO just keep fact-checking Trump and pointing out his lies, which is fine...but this isn't going to convince anyone who is already in the bag for Trump. Doubt they even read or watch anything that criticizes Trump to begin with.

Starting to look like Nazi Germany...all those Germans who knew about the camps only denied knowing about them because they lost the war. If they had won the war, there would have been the sound of crickets.

Now we have VP candidate Tim Scott actively saying the 2020 election was rigged, and this guy has a good chance to be the next VP...

No one ever asks Trump for his 'proof' that the last election was stolen. He doesn't have any proof and will just pivot to another topic like he always does...but faith in our electoral system has been thoroughly undermined just by Trump's words.

  7. It's sad how far Giuliani has fallen since 9/11. I wonder if he ever looks in the mirror and realizes that he screwed himself by backing Trump.

Never mind, I already have that answer. If he ever had an epiphany, he wouldn't be in this predicament.

Sad to see people who keep doubling down on stupid.

The Real Tragedy Is That Most Trump Supporters Aren’t Stupid

It's time we stopped giving adult human beings the benefit of the doubt, simply because we think they're not smart enough not to be fooled by religious shysters, fake news peddlers, and political snake oil salesmen.

Ignorance is not a compelling argument.

We’ve all heard the theories for the past eight years: people still supporting Donald Trump are somehow victims of the partisan media and Evangelical alternate reality that they’ve been raised in and are still captives of. They’re continually surrounded  by fake news and false stories, and so they aren’t bad people they just aren’t seeing what we are seeing and we need to be more understanding.

    This just isn’t acceptable anymore.

There simply isn’t a sufficient excuse for being an adult so sheltered from facts and so truth-deprived that you can’t see Trump’s complete sociopathy and you can’t discern the existential threat he and his party are to this nation.

These people aren’t being asked to dig beneath some complex, brilliantly crafted ruse perpetrated by Conservative media and religious conglomerates working in concert. If you can simply read Trump’s own social media feed and not be fully disgusted to the point of vomiting, you either aren’t a reasonable human being or you are willingly choosing to engage in wild intellectual and theological gymnastics in order to avoid a reality that makes you uncomfortable, and to intentionally avoid some really vile stuff that no one is even attempting to conceal anymore.

I’m fully convinced that nearly everyone still supporting Donald Trump knows he is a reprehensible human being and guilty of high crimes against this nation—but they simply can’t admit to themselves or anyone else they made a mistake and so they are doubling down again and again.

I'm convinced that a large number of Trumpies like him simply because he is entertaining and brings drama to their otherwise drab lives. Who didn't laugh heartily when he referred to Jeb Bush as "Low-Energy Jeb" and Elizabeth Warren as "Pocahontas"? He gets away with saying things normal politicians would lose their careers for...because he's not judged as being a politician.

But they're also hypocrites...the same misogynistic behaviors Trump is accused of, which his followers ignorantly gloss over, would be unacceptable if he were a Democrat...just look at how these people rail against the misogynistic Bill Clinton.

At the end of the day, Trump is popular because he appeals to fear, a base emotion. In fact, I think Trump might as well go ahead and adopt the Winnie the Pooh song "Heffalumps and Woozles" to describe his followers' fear of immigrants:

    They're black, they're brown, they're up, they're down
    They're in, they're out, they're all about

    They're far, they're near, they're gone, they're here
They're quick and slick, they're insincere

    Beware, beware
    Be a very wary bear

    This was so well done.

Now mind you, everything decent to us is foreign and new since the previous regime jaded us into oblivion but the video, the strategy and everything, it had more to it than the pathetic rebranding effort by those who's name will no longer be spoken.

And I love Riggo, Monk and Joey T. but I feel like this is the one you retire to represent the longevity, decency and level of excellence of Green and that era.

Makes you wonder if Jason Wright was even involved in the whole process...after all, he didn't just suddenly figure out how to properly plan and execute a project like this, especially based on his previous FUBARs with Sean Taylor and others.

I LOVE seeing our colors... OUR Uniforms... being worn by current admin! This might be what brings them back! DG is LOOOOONG overdue to have his # retired. We need to further retire 44, 7 & 81... maybe one per year for the next few years...

I know this is OT but I have a gut feeling that when/if the team rebrands they will bring back some semblance of the old unis, albeit with a new logo/name.

Please don't put Jason Wright in charge of this! It's just another opportunity for him to eff up!!

"I'm happy about that," Green said at the time. "I probably wouldn't be here otherwise."

Can anyone imagine a player in any sport ever saying that about the owner, other than perhaps Steinbrenner? I don't want to rehash all of the horrors that occurred under Snyder, but driving away your own HoF players has to rank up there with the worst offenses.

I don't think he will be that blunt. He doesn't need to. I am SHOCKED though that we haven't had a legit attack on someone associated with the court yet.

Well, the election is still 7 months away and he needs to keep his cult "entertained" until then. Many times I feel a lot of his supporters just like him because he's entertaining and provides drama, which he knows and that's why he gets away with so much.
