You don’t have to. I am responding to your post. If teams want to improve then you improve by having “good players”

I believe the best way to build a team is to stop making excuses for staff and players. If a team isn’t drafting right then get new management. If the plays suck, get a new staff if the players suck then get new players. If Sam is going to be a good QB, then he needs to figure out the protection and get the ball out quicker. This isn’t all on the o-line. It’s on him to figure it out.

I’m not to considered about one bad game or even a few. It was my counterpoint to people worrying that this will leave him traumatized. I personally don’t feel good or elite QBs get shell shocked long term. If they do, then they weren’t going to be that level QB anyways.

No, my point is that we need to stop worrying that this will somehow break him mentally. If he is good this won’t break him, if it does then he was not going to be what we need anyways.

Elite definitely carry bad teams and bad O-line. I will use Kirk as an example, not elite but as an example. RG3 was getting sacked left and right, Kirk comes in and magically the sacks went down. Poof - magic.

No, what is dumb is when people make excuses as to why a player isn’t good or didn’t have a good career. Guys like Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Mahomes etc, would be good regardless of the talent. Guys like Carr, Haskins, Ramsey, would suck no matter what. Sometimes, guys sucks….because…they suck. If Howell ends up spooked then he isn’t cut out.

Good QBs don’t get scared by bad surrounding casts. Only bad QBs do. If Howell ends up sucking it’s because he sucks.

Say it every week, we don’t need wins, but we have to at least look competent and be competitive. How much time does a coaching staff need.

He does that really cool, shoulder shrug move when he makes one good play, so there’s that.

4 years is plenty of time to figure out if a player needs to be replaced

How do teams get over that hump and actually become good? We have 4 first round picks on the defensive line. We have a 1st round pick LB and a 1 round pick CB but we can’t really change the game defensively. On offense we have Terry, Curtis, Jahan and Gibson. Someone should be open every play - if not then what the hell is all the hype about regarding the “playmakers” this team has. If the plays aren’t working then coaching needs to adjust.

Our “elite” defense doesn’t make plays like that.
