Did I just come up with a good nickname for Terry?

Even Chris Carter tweeted he wouldn’t be surprised to see Terry McLaurin starting at wide receiver his rookie year.

Cutting Doctson would be the most idiotic thing ever. He has a modest contract and still has a ton of potential. Your team needs more than 5 wide receivers anyways. So you just cut him because you personally don't like him? Most teams carry anywhere from 6 to 7 wide receivers and we absolutely will keep at least 6.
Doctson, Richardson, Quinn, McLaurin, Harmon, Sims, and possibly even Robert Davis. McLaurin, Harmon, and Davis would absolutely play Teams and they give you much needed depth in case injuries hit - which for Richardson and Quinn is extremely likely.
Not because I personally don’t like him. If we keep six, which we probably will, you’re right, keep him. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get cut. He’s taking up a spot on the roster from someone else who would try harder.
He’s on thin ice. We’ll see how much playtime he gets. If Harmon is giving more effort, Doctson is number six on the depth chart to me.

You mean the trick where he jumps out of the stadium, makes the catch, and then loses it when he hits the ground?
I would like to see Doctson make it, but he has stiff competition. PRich, Quinn, McLaurin are locks. Cam Sims, Robert Davis, and Kelvin Harmon are all having themselves a camp...
To be honest I would cut him. Keep Quinn, Rich, McLaurin, Sims, and possibly Harmon.
If Harmon doesn’t seem to be up to the task, then you keep Doctson.

Does anybody like sports cliches as much as I do? And furthermore do you always laugh when you hear them in interviews?
At the end of the day
Let the chips fall where they may
Give a hundred and ten percent
Take it one play at a time
Keep your head in the game
😆
I think It’s because of the movie Bedazzled, where Brendan Frasier mocks all the cliches in an interview with a reporter.

Just watched a bunch of twitter videos of today’s practice.
My take is that Doctson breaks out this year. He looks into it and hopefully he’s motivated by the 5th year option. On one play where Josh picked off a pass that was overthrown to Doctson, Josh turned around as to make a tackle of Norman. I like that kind of hustle.
Robert Davis has all the tangibles but not the hands and I don’t see him making the squad. I think Cam and Harmon are battling each other for the 53 with the other as PS.
I said it in another thread but I could see Steven Sims making the team and getting a lot of playing time in the slot. He’s got a lot of twitch and he’s ideal for the slot. I’m just not convinced on Quinn.
Lastly Jordan looks great so far. We need him to be the man!
JP Finlay thinks Quinn has the slot position locked up. He says he’ looked that good. I’d let Davis go. I’m not sold on Doctson, but I’d get rid of him no matter what, unless he has a ridiculously good season.
Really Id like to see Richardson, Harmon, McLaurin, Quinn, and Sims. Maybe I have one too many possession receivers, but whatever.

I’m putting my money on Cam Sims and Terry McLaurin. Hopefully Richardson can make big contributions.

Terry in particular presents interesting qualities due to size and athletic ability which is enhanced by route nuance and work ethic. When the training camp tweets start rolling in I will definitely be addicted.
Just hearing the words “training camp tweets” has me excited.

I just really hope we see more imagination with the offense this year. Maybe have Jordan Reed split out with Terry a few times. I mean, it is a game.

Did anybody else here Charlie Casserly on redskins training camp say that McLaurin performed so well at OTA’s that he’s starting on one side and now doctson is competing with P Richardson for the other?
It seems way too early to be saying stuff like that in my opinion and I haven’t heard any other reporters putting that out there. But he said he was looking like a first rounder out there so that’s hopeful I guess.
Yes i saw Casserly say this also.

Every time I see him I think about what Joe Gibbs says about character. It’s the first thing you look for when you draft a player. And then you throw in how he takes pride in doing the dirty work. I like this kid.

Larry Michael said McaLaurin has been standing out in OTA’s.

I didn’t even think about Montez going up against Trent. Would like to see some video of it.

I was just lamenting our lack of team speed and it occurred to me that Montez Sweat is our fastest defender other than Fabian Moreau. Sweat would be the second fastest player in our secondary...that’s crazy.
You got McLaurin who runs like a 4.3 also.

He is jevon kearse level freakish, and got sacks too. And he has worked at his game too, he isn't one of those guys who the game "just comes easy" to, he has had to really learn skills to play defense, and it looks like he is. fingers crossed
You’re right, but I’m going to give him time. Five to six sacks this year, but with some very impactful plays in clutch situations mixed in, and I’m happy about his rookie year.

Sweat and McLaurin are still unsigned according to this from an NBC sports article about Kyle Rudolph . " Rudolph is owed $7.5 million after June 1, and the Redskins only have about $10 million left in cap space. The team will need some money during the season to sign players as injuries inevitably pop up, and Washington still has to agree to terms with first-round pick Montez Sweat and third-rounder Terry McLaurin. "
Im not worried, but I’d be more comfortable if they would just get this out of the way and concentrate on football.
